By applying missile preliminary design, a good estimation for different design parameters can be obtained which will be useful through further detail design process. The aim of this paper is to build a preliminary design procedure for an unguided tactical missile that uses single-stage solid propellant motor to deliver a defined payload mass to a desired ground range. It reveals the similarities between IBCSOs? poverty reduction work and official social protection, and discusses how their approaches to poverty reduction can be understood in terms of the various discourses justifying social protection (risks, rights and needs). The thesis also uses these case studies to examine the validity of Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs) as vehicles for poverty reduction and social protection. In this study, a practical engineering system, Mine Clearing Line Charge MICLIC system is taken as an example for an open chain system with accelerated end and varying number of segments. To validate the proposed model, a comparison between two different finite segment methods namely Kane’s method and Riccati transfer matrix method of linear multibody system (Riccati-MS-TMM) have been performed for a large open chain system. Results show that computational speed of Riccati-MS-TMM outperforms Kane’s method due to its huge matrix size to be solved. Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles and non aqueous stable magnetic fluid (MF) containing Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticl... more Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles and non aqueous stable magnetic fluid (MF) containing Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles with mean diameters of 10 nm, which are in the range of super-paramagnetism, are prepared. Magnetite nanoparticles are synthesized via co-precipitation method from ferrous and ferric solutions. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) are used to study the physical properties of the (MF) and powder. The band gap parameters of the magneto-nanopowders such as the direct, indirect-band gap energies, Fermi energy and Urbach energy are determined.
ABSTRACT Groundwater is the most important natural resource used for drinking by many people arou... more ABSTRACT Groundwater is the most important natural resource used for drinking by many people around the world, especially in arid and semi-arid areas. The resource cannot be optimally used and sustained unless the quality of groundwater is assessed. Saveh-Nobaran aquifer in Iran is the most important groundwater aquiferous system in the region which is considered a major source for drinking and irrigation. The main objective of this study is to understand the groundwater quality status of Saveh-Nobaran aquifer, followed by attempts to investigate the spatial distribution of groundwater quality parameters to identify places with the best quality for drinking consume within the study area. For this purpose, a set of original data, as yet unpublished, is presented. This paper provides an important contribution for understanding relationship between land use and groundwater quality, and also groundwater depth and groundwater quality. This goal has been achieved with the combined use of the Water Quality Index (WQI) and a geographical information system (GIS). A total of 58 groundwater samples were collected and analyzed for major cations and anions. Spatial distribution maps of pH, TDS, EC, TH, Cl, HCO, SO4, Ca, Mg, Na and K have been created using the kriging method in a GIS environment. From the WQI assessment, over 65 % of the water samples fall within the ‘‘Poor’’, ‘‘Very poor’’ and “unsuitable for drinking” categories, suggesting that groundwater from the center and north-east of the Saveh-Nobaran aquifer is unsuitable for drinking purposes. This research and its results have shown the great combination use of GIS and WQI in assessing groundwater quality. Having a clear view of the geographic areas of groundwater quality, decision makers can plan better for the operation and maintenance of groundwater resources.

ABSTRACT The removal of ferric ions was carried out by using crosslinked chitosan resins immobili... more ABSTRACT The removal of ferric ions was carried out by using crosslinked chitosan resins immobilized with diethylenetriamine (DETA) and tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) as active moieties. TEPA containing chitosan resin showed higher uptake capacity (3.2 mmol/g) toward Fe(III) compared with DETA containing one (1.4 mmol/g) at 25 8C. Both kinetics and thermodynamic studies of the adsorption process were carried out. Thermodynamic data indicated that adsorption process is exothermic and spontaneous reaction, while the kinetic data indicated that the adsorption of Fe(III) by the investigated resins follows the pseudo second order kinetics. Breakthrough time, critical bed height and durability of resins were estimated from column studies. The critical bed height for the studied resins are 0.2 and 0.05 cm at a flow rate of 1 mL/min and column diameter of 1 cm for DETA and TEPA containing resins, respectively. These parameters indicated that the resin containing TEPA has high efficiency for Fe(III) removal from aqueous media. Desorption of Fe(III) from the prepared resins was efficiently done using thiourea acidified with HNO3.
