Bu amaç çerçevesinde kamuda ve özel sektörde çalışan 306 kadın akademisyene kişisel bilgi formu, sınırsız ve çok yönlü kariyer ölçeği ve beş faktör kişilik envanteri uygulanmıştır. Korelasyon analizi bulgularına göre kişilik boyutları (nevrotiklik, uzlaşılabilirlik, özdisiplin, dışadönüklük, deneyime açıklık) ile sınırsız ve çok yönlü kariyer tutumları arasında zayıf ya da orta düzeyde ilişkiler saptanmıştır. Kadın akademisyenlerin deneyime açıklık ve dışadönüklük özellikleri arttıkça psikolojik hareketlilik düzeylerinin de arttığı, ancak fiziksel kariyer hareketlerinin azaldığı tespit edilmiştir. Regresyon analizi sonucunda deneyime açıklık ve özdisiplin özelliklerinin çok yönlü kariyer tutumunu pozitif yönde, nevrotiklik özelliğinin negatif yönde yordadığı ortaya çıkmıştır. The aim of this study was to investigate how coping mechanisms differ between hemodialysis patien... more The aim of this study was to investigate how coping mechanisms differ between hemodialysis patients and healthy people. Our sample consisted of 110 adults in Turkey: 55 hemodialysis patients and 55 age- and sex-matched healthy subjects. The Shorter Coping Style Scale, the Vulnerability to Stress Scale, and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support were used. The results revealed that the hemodialysis patients were more vulnerable to stress, and used emotion-oriented coping styles more than the healthy group. The consistency of the findings with the literature is discussed.

The aim of this study was to determine the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the... more The aim of this study was to determine the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the Workaholism Battery (Spence & Robbins, 1992). The original scale was translated into Turkish and then administered to 175 working graduates. Confirmatory factor analysis yielded a 2-factor solution with 9 items established in the first factor (WE) and 11 in the second (D). The reliability coefficient of the new shortened scale was .83 and the split-half reliability coefficient was .69. This scale has adequate criterion-related validity, with a positive correlation between the Jenkins Activity Survey - Type A Behavior subscale (Jenkins, Zyzanski, & Rosenman, 1979) and both WE and D. Congruence between the findings and the literature is discussed.

University students (N = 152) from Ankara University, Turkey completed a questionnaire. Validity analysis revealed that the new shortened scale has adequate convergent validity and reliability.

The aim of the present study was to determine whether or not young university students are worrie... more The aim of the present study was to determine whether or not young university students are worried about being unemployed after graduation. Choice of field for university education influences unemployment worries and therefore we collected data from 287 university students from Ankara University who were studying social sciences or sciences. The results demonstrated that the level of concern about unemployment in students about to graduate is very high and education in sciences or social sciences influences how this phenomenon is handled. Congruence between our findings and the literature is discussed.
