The impact of such credit on traditional fisheries was determined on the fishery productivity and their traditional fisherman income in Sulawesi Tengah Province. The research result showed that the credit was needed as an additional capital for the fishery sustainability. With such credit, the productivity of the fisheries increased as shown by sufficiently high incremental benefit which the fishermen achieved. The credit also affected the fisherman household in making decision related to such economic behaviors as productivity activities, working time, income and expenditure. Thus these behaviors were analyzed using an econometric approach with a simultaneous equation.
The analysis of poverty reduction policy strategy on fisherman community was aimed to formulate m... more The analysis of poverty reduction policy strategy on fisherman community was aimed to formulate marine and resources management and utilization strategies that integrating sustainable approach to achieve economic growth, that useful as benchmark for operation and planning policy arrangement both for stakeholders and fisheries entrepreneur to reduce poverty that attached on fisherman community. The research's methods are quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative approach are including: first, bio-economic analysis, that aimed to achieve optimal fish management resources, biologically and economically; second, fisheries utilize optimizing analysis, that consider possible benefit and loss on such aspects, including biology, economic, legal, social and political aspects. Furthermore, income analysis was conducted to study fisherman income level and regression analysis to determine factors that affect the income. Fisherman poverty level was analyzed to study degree of fisherman community living. Qualitative analysis was conducted using PRA and FGD approach to absorb existing problems in the fisherman community with criteria as follow: problems coverage, incidence frequency, and problem severity level. The offered poverty reduction strategies are including : (a) fishing facilities development program (b) program for infrastructure facilities provision that empower the community, (c) program to improve human resources by on job training and training, (d) social security program and partnership arrangement, (e) program to improve traditional fisherman access on capital and market, (f) political commitment from policy maker, evaluate and arrange local regulation concerning sustainable fisheries management and utilization and involving local fisherman in the resources planning and management.
