The mass loss (and sectional area loss) in 0 and 0.09 wt% GO-modified cement specimens after HCl attack were 6.1% and 4.2% (and 8% and 4.7%), respectively. These specimen losses decreased with an increasing GO dosage. The GO inclusion up to 0.09 wt% in cement paste significantly absorbs the free water and increased the viscosity to 13.7 folds, in comparison to control mix (i.e. without any GO). However, such GO inclusion densified the cement microstructure and further inhibited the decalcification-induced shrinkage cracks propagating because of the HCl attack. The cement zone in all samples altered by the HCl attack was found to be occupied with alumina-silica hydrogel. Overall, this study recommends the potential use of GO in the manufacturing of concrete storage structures operating in acidic environments.

A detailed ab-initio study of the structural, electronic, magnetic and optical properties of a 2D-GaN monolayer containing Ga or N atom vacancies has been performed. In the present study, we make two refinements in the density functional theory. At first, long range dispersion interactions not discussed so far have been accounted for. Further, norm-conserving pseudopotentials and plane waves are employed in generalized gradient approximation in contrast to earlier workers who have used soft or ultra-soft pseudopotentials. One observes that the strength of induced magnetism depends not on the separation of Ga-vacancies but on the number of Ga atom vacancies. The magnetism induced by N-atom vacancies is either zero or quite small. Spin filtering has been observed in many configurations. A strong continuous absorption from the far infrared region to the deep visible region is seen in some systems. It may be useful for development of photo-emitting devices which will emit in various regions of energy spectrum including visible emission. The emission of 2D-GaN monolayer lying in deep ultraviolet region may be used for sterilization, water purification etc.

Lightweight ECC-based CP-ABE schemes can provide feasible selective sharing from resource-constrained devices. However, the existing schemes lack support for a complete revocation mechanism at the user and attribute levels. We propose a novel scheme called Ecc Proxy based Scalable Attribute Revocation (EPSAR-CP-ABE) scheme. It extends an existing ECC-based CP-ABE scheme for lightweight IoT and smart-card devices to implement scalable attribute revocation. The scheme does not require re-distribution of secret keys and re-encryption of ciphertext. It uses a proxy server to furnish a proxy component for decryption. The dependency of the proposed scheme is minimal on the proxy server compared to the other related schemes. The storage and computational overhead due to the attribute revocation feature are negligible. Hence, the proposed EPSAR-CP-ABE scheme can be deployed practically for resource-constrained devices.

The paper provides effective solution for adjusting beam take off angle $\pm 30$ degree electronically without physical height variation of HF antenna. Tilting angle for antenna radiation pattern has been controlled by gradually varying the capacitor value positioned at one end of dipole keeping fixed value of parallel inductor.

Characterization and grouping of genotypes for yield and other traits was carried out with the help of descriptor of pigeonpea. All these data were recorded on 1 to 9 scales as per descriptor. The knowledge of nature and extent of genetic variation are available in the pigeonpea genotypes. Collection, conservation and characterization of genotype is the backbone of any crop improvement programme which in turn depends on the extent of genetic diversity in gene pool. Diversity in plant genotypes provides opportunity for plant breeders to develop new and improved cultivars with desirable characteristics, which include both preferred traits viz. earliness and yield attributing traits.

Hypoxia alters the expression of a number of microRNAs (miRNAs). However, the molecular function of submergence stress-induced miRNAs in physiological or developmental changes and recovery remains poorly understood. Here we show that miR775 is an Arabidopsis thaliana-specific young and unique miRNA that possibly evolved non-canonically. miR775 post-transcriptionally regulates Galactosyltransferase (GALT9) and their expression is inversely affected at 24 hours of complete submergence stress. The overexpression of miR775 (miR775-Oe) confers enhanced recovery from submergence stress and reduced accumulation of RBOHD and ROS, in contrast to wild type and MIM775 Arabidopsis shoot. A similar recovery phenotype of galt9 mutant indicates the role of miR775-GALT9 module in post-submergence recovery. We predicted Golgi-localized GALT9 to be potentially involved in p...

The aim of this paper is to provide efficient technique for optimum performance of HF dipole ante... more The aim of this paper is to provide efficient technique for optimum performance of HF dipole antenna with minimum height variation. HF Frequencies are generally lower at the night and higher during the day due to ionospheric variations. Large range HF communication experiences limitation due to use of either multiple antennas or changing the antenna height at regular interval due to variation in HF frequencies. Various past research work w.r.t. HF frequency tuning focuses on either electrically small antennas or narrow band, dual band frequency tuning. However long range wide band HF antenna frequency tuning needed to be addressed. In present paper a channel length extension technique is used to vary the long range inverted V HF Dipole antenna resonance frequency while maintaining the actual Dipole length. With the employment of channel length extension technique most of day/night frequencies can be covered in a particular time slot resulting in very effective and accurate HF contact with least variation of antenna height. Resonance Frequency shifting (-3 M Hz) from 9.5 MHz to 6.5 MHz has been demonstrated by varying channel length for 10 M Hz inverted-‘V’ HF dipole antenna. Extensive trials were conducted to validate the performance results and same found as desired. The research work carried out in this paper will definitely enhance the efficiency of HF communication for various time slots and provide novel platform for optimum operational performance of HF antenna specially in the field of Defence and national security.

The dielectric constant of 4.4mm and dimension of substrate 0.24 X × 0.24X, tangential loss 0.025 and substrate FR-4 with thickness is 1.6mm is used. The structure consist of three elements Two Squares and a Decagon engraved on the substrate and provides three stable frequency response of 1.8GHz, 3.5GHz, and 5.5GHz. The proposed design is polarization independent and has stable frequency response at various angles of incidence for both perpendicular and parallel TE and TM wave modes respectively as the structure is symmetrical. The simulated results prove that a good insertion loss at desired resonant frequency was achieved in both TE and TM mode. Simulation is carried out in CST microwave studio that is based on FDTD method in frequency domain solver.

The pelvis is the most common site with iliac bone being frequently involved. Hindquarter amputation was the standard treatment for pelvic osteosarcoma for years. Resection of tumors with wide margins gained popularity with advances in the medical field. The only resection without reconstruction of the pelvis has its own demerits which paved way for methods of reconstruction. One of these is pelvic reconstruction with non-vascularised fibular graft among many other methods, which is simple, cost-effective, and has a good functional outcome. Here, we are reporting a case of exophytic chondrosarcoma of intermediate grade in ilium in a 19-year-old male for whom internal hemipelvectomy (Enneking and Dunham type 1) and pelvic reconstruction with nonvascularised fibular graft was done with the excellent functional and radiological outcome, with a two-year follow-up.

In the military, it is used for the extraction of information from unknown intercepted signals and the generation of jamming signals. Civil applications include interference management and spectrum underutilization. To overcome the limitations of traditional methods like maximum likelihood (ML) and feature- based (FB), deep learning (DL) networks have been developed and are being evolved. Following this direction, a convolution neural network (CNN) based AMC method is proposed. The two dimensional Fast Fourier Transform (2D-FFT) is used as a classification feature and a less complex and efficient deep CNN model is designed to classify the modulation schemes of different orders of PSK and QAM. The developed method achieves adequate classification performance for considered five modulation schemes in the AWGN channel.

Many have claimed that employee engagement predicts employee outcomes, organizational success, and financial performance. At the same time, it has been reported that employee engagement is on the decline and there is a deepening disengagement among employees today. The nature of organizational climate prevalent in an organization determines the extent to which employees are engaged. Engagement is also being shaped by energy, efficacy and involvement in a role. People vary in their engagement as a function of their perceptions of the benefits they receive from a role. To create the willingness of employees, an organization must design jobs that motivate the employees and make them get the work done. This study brings in a conceptual model that helps to identify the various factors that will impact employee engagement. The study reinforces the need for organizations to review its workplace climate based on the employee perceptions and strive for creating a work environment that motivates employees to become committed and effective performers by fulfilling their needs. The study has identified two new role variables which affect Employee Engagement.

Doubled haploids (DHs) are plants derived from a single pollen grain and doubled artificially to form homozygous diploids. A DH individual has two identical homologs, so that the amount of recombination information is equivalent to a backcross. Homozygosity at a particular locus is always desirable feature for crop improvement programs. Breeding is one of the approaches to attain this but it requires minimum 6-7 cropping years. Use of haploid to produce double haploid is one of the potent approaches to overcome this lacuna. Haploid can be either produce through androgenesis or gynogenesis, androgenesis being most used approach. Not only are traits fixed for selection but the multiple generations of inbreeding required using traditional breeding methods are circumvented. However, prior to implementing a DH breeding progr...
