Mohammad Shahid Ullah obtained the Masters of Social Sciences (MSS) degree in Sociology from University of Dhaka. He carried out different research projects independently utilizing qualitative and quantitative approaches commissioned by National and International NGOs as lead and co-researcher in the area of MDGs, Access to Justice, Workers’ Rights, Displacement and Rehabilitation and Public Health Care. He has extensive knowledge, expertise and experiences in the field of development with a critical outlook on public policies including education and health. He has also expertise in strategic management and project design. He has publications and writings on the budget, democracy and governance and issues pertaining to various public policies. Besides as development activists, Shahid has long experience in training, mobilization, and advocacy being exposed to the national and international arena. He has served in senior management positions in different NGOs and research organizations including the Shushasoner Jonno Prochar Ovijan-SUPRO (Campaign for Good Governance).
At present, he is working as Chief Executive with Jana Adhyan Kendra an independent organization dedicated to enhancing the critical understanding of development and promoting collective actions through innovative research, analyses, and shared-learning
