" Nothing new can ever be learned by analyzing definitions… Nevertheless, our existing beliefs can be set in order by this process, and order is an essential element of intellectual economy, as of every other. " "Philosophy will not be able to bring about a direct change of the present state of the world. .. The greatness of what is to be thought is too great. "
I intend to bring the concept of agapastic evolution into better focus by analyzing neologisms coined by Peirce and Martin Heidegger while bearing in mind that language, iconography, inaction, micro-momentary expressions and silence are all forms of communication capable of conveying meaning & filling a " lexical gap " in our understanding of evolution. While scientific analysis generally moves from hypothesis to belief relying upon verifiability and incorporated induction, Peirce places abduction in its place contra-opposing both deduction and induction. In so doing Peirce undergirds the legitimacy of abduction in building his argument for agapastic evolution. Ever inclined to triadic formulas he contrasts agapastic evolution with tychastic and anacastic forms while paying special attention to the timelines delimiting tychasm and anacasm. In so doing Pierce contends that of the three, agapastic evolution has the greatest growth potential and definitely has the most favorable timeline for our evolution as a species.
