A survey design was used while a total of 70 hospital staff was sampled. Questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. Data gathered were analyzed using frequency counts and simple percentages. Findings revealed that admission register has 100 records; patient case note has 97 records; nursing and ward has 93 records; x-ray has 91 film records; while other records are less than 90 records. The analysis of mechanism put in place for effective management of records in surveyed hospitals revealed that care in handling hospital records, Confidentiality of records, security of records and avoidance of water contact/bad weather are major mechanism employed in the hospitals.The major preservation methods/techniques applied in keeping records in surveyed hospitals are computerization, binding and lamination.The study recommends among other things in hospital surveyed...

A self-developed questionnaire was adopted and it gave a reliability coefficient of 88% to Human Capital Development and 94% to Productivity. A response rate of 67.2% was achieved. This study examined job satisfaction among librarians in public universities in Nigeria. It adopt... more This study examined job satisfaction among librarians in public universities in Nigeria. It adopted survey research design. The population of the study consisted of 1,254 librarians in public university libraries in Nigeria, from which 923 were selected using simple random sampling. The research instrument used was a selfdeveloped questionnaire. A response rate of 67.2% was achieved. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study revealed a high level of job satisfaction among librarians in public university libraries in Nigeria. The study concluded that contrary to general belief of low level of job satisfaction among librarians in university libraries it was however discovered that it was high. It is generally observed that the roles and contributions of School Library otherwise known as School Media Resources to the educational development of our young minds cannot be overemphasized especially when one considers the functions of a library within the school system. Hence, this paper shows how the application of e-books could enrich the library services and thereby enhance the academic performance of students in Nigerian institutions of lower learning (secondary and primary schools). Besides, it discusses some problems that the author perceives could affect the application of e-books in the school media services. The author concludes the paper with some recommendations that could serve as a way forward to those challenges bedevilling the effective performance of the school media services in Nigerian schools.
