This research offers a thorough summary of the UN's numerous efforts to fight inequality, promote world peace, and end poverty. Conflict resolution, peacekeeping operations, improvements in human rights, humanitarian assistance, microfinance initiatives, social security programs, sustainable development, health, and education are some of the main areas of concentration. The UN has played a crucial role in stabilizing volatile regions by deploying peacekeeping missions in conflict zones, mediating peace negotiations, and supporting post-conflict reconstruction. The adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and various international treaties has set global standards for human rights protection. Additionally, the UN's humanitarian efforts have provided critical aid in response to crises and disasters worldwide. This study also explores the UN's initiatives in employing microfinance programs and social protection schemes to address poverty and inequality. Microfinance programs provide small-scale financial services to underserved populations, fostering entrepreneurship and economic empowerment, particularly in developing regions. Concurrently, social protection schemes offer vital safety nets through cash transfers, healthcare coverage, and other forms of assistance, ensuring basic needs are met for vulnerable groups. By empowering individuals and communities to build resilience and improve livelihoods, these initiatives significantly contribute to poverty reduction and promote more equitable access to opportunities. Moreover, the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to address pressing global challenges, including poverty, hunger, health, and education, fostering inclusive economic growth and social justice. This study underscores the UN's enduring relevance and its pivotal role in shaping a more peaceful and equitable global society. Continued investment in and support for UN initiatives are essential for achieving sustainable development goals and advancing global peace and stability.

The reasons why people engage in conflict have been the subject of extensive scholarly inquiry across multiple disciplines, each offering distinct theories and perspectives. This study explores the divergent views on why people fight, emphasizing that no single reason can fully explain the complexities of human conflict. Biological and evolutionary perspectives highlight innate human tendencies and evolutionary imperatives, while psychological theories focus on individual motivations, emotions, and cognitive processes. Sociocultural explanations emphasize the role of social structures, cultural norms, and group dynamics. Economic and political theories consider material interests, class struggles, and power dynamics, while environmental and ecological factors underscore the impact of natural resource scarcity and ecological disruption. Through an in-depth examination of these theories and numerous real-world examples, this analysis provides a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted nature of human conflict, illustrating the intricate interplay of factors that drive aggression and violence.

However, the country's development has been hindered by several economic environment factors. This study explores key factors that suppress growth and development in Nigeria, including macroeconomic instability, inadequate infrastructure, a complex regulatory environment, and pervasive governance issues. Macroeconomic instability, characterized by high inflation rates, exchange rate volatility, and fiscal deficits, undermines consumer purchasing power and investor confidence, while Nigeria's heavy reliance on oil exacerbates these issues. Inadequate infrastructure, including poor transportation networks, unreliable power supply, and deficient water and sanitation facilities, further hampers economic activity. The complex regulatory environment, marked by bureaucratic red tape, inefficiency, and lack of transparency, deters investment and stifles business growth. Governance challenges and widespread corruption distort market mechanisms and misallocate resources, severely impacting economic development. The study concludes with recommendations for addressing these challenges, including implementing stable monetary and fiscal policies, diversifying the economy, improving infrastructure, streamlining regulatory processes, and strengthening governance and anti-corruption measures. By adopting these recommendations, Nigeria can enhance its economic environment, foster growth, and achieve sustainable development.
