Thus, everyone has lot of rights such as right to speech, right to expression, right to privacy, etc. they can use their right without violating others right. We can say that it is everyone responsibility that to protect their rights and others rights too. In our country in order to protect those rights srilankan legislative body guaranteed those rights under constitution and other legislation likewise where those rights are violated by others its also punishable as an offence. Particularly this article will dealing with right to privacy under the area of defamation. It has greatly increased the need to protect the privacy of the individual from invasions not only by the State, but also from others who seek to profit from such intrusions.This article probes into the latest trends in modern society and analyses the existing legal framework in Sri Lanka.
