Dar al-Salam
- Not to be confused with Dar es Salaam, a city in Tanzania.
Dar al-Salam means House or Abode of Peace in Arabic and may refer to;
Dar al-Islam - A term used by Muslim scholars to refer to countries where Islam can be practiced safely.
Baghdad - The Abbasid ruler Al-Mansur gave Baghdad the name Dar al-Salam[1] during which time it became a centre for wisdom produced during the Islamic Golden Age.
The term Dar al-Salam occurs in the Quran in Sura 10:25 and Surah 6:127 as a name of Paradise.[2]
