The purple-edged copper (Lycaena hippothoe) is a butterfly of the family Lycaenidae.
- Length of male: 16–17 mm.
- Period of flight: June–July, one generation, range around 1500 m.
- Plants favoured: Rumex spp. and Polygonum bistorta.
- Home: Western Europe to the region of the river Amur.
