I could have written pages here. With my illness making emotions so alien to me, I often get in this situation. And I can't get out by myself. So while it's likely not salvageable for me, I hope this can help people understanding their cub's reaction. Be friendly, not intimidating. Be gentle, not scolding (unless you know he pouts as an act). Try a mediator, maybe open with a cookie or an ice-cream. But talk to him.
