1523 HOURS, DECEMBER 12, 2557 (MILITARY CALENDAR)/ EDGE OF EPSILON INDI SYSTEM FORMER COLONY WORLD MOBIUS/ NORTHERN HOLOSKA.

Alex was scanning the horizon looking for any sign of Egg empire forces, but the snow coming down heavy and fast it was pointless he could hardly see 20ft in front of himself, he sighed as he had tried every imaging system his helmet display had to offer and there was still no sign of activity from Egg Empire forces that had been reported in the area. "Still Can't believe Rouge made me go with you instead of her" Shadow grumbled, Shadow was not very fond of Alex after their first encounter at GUN HQ a few months earlier, "Quit whining will you Shadow, you know Rouge would've been bitching about freezing her ass off too." Alex pointed out, while Alex wasn't fond of Shadow either he didn't have a issue with working with him.
"They Should've sent Omega with you instead, I prefer not to freeze my quills off." Shadow responded annoyed, "Well deal with it your stuck with me Shadow, besides could be worst you could be stuck with Sonic on this mission right now." Alex said jokingly.
"As much as I can't stand Sonic some days I'd take him over you right now" Shadow said snidely, "Oh and here I thought we were getting along just fine." Alex replied, "Tsk!" Shadow scoffed not amused, "listen if we don't see something with in the next hour we can head back to village and warm up." Alex said,
he seen his fair share of frozen climates on other colony worlds back during the war with the covenant, and especially during the Harvest campaign in 2531, it'd been his team and some marines that came across what later become to be known as Forerunner ruins a map room to be exact, upsetting the covenant enough that they committed everything they had into forcing him and his team out of there, when Alex had reported this to senior brass back on reach it had got there attention that even mere mention of other Alien life out there was enough to make their hair stand on end especially so if the covenant were interested in them.
Shadow was shivering, looked over to Alex and noticed he wasn't moving, "Hey you alive?" he asked. "Huh?, oh yeah i'm fine sorry I was just lost in thought." Alex answered. "Good can we go now?!" Shadow asked annoyed as hell and shivering. "Yeah alright fine let's pack it in, if there is any Egg Empire forces out here they must have a base of some sort out here and they ain't gonna come out in this." Alex said as he slung his rifle over his back getting up.
"How is it you're not shivering like me?" Shadow asked getting up as well, "Well I am wearing armor it's designed to keep me warm in harsh climates such as this" Alex answered smirking behind his helmets visor, "asshole" Shadow muttered as they started making their way back to the village.
About a hour later back in the village at GUN's regional hq, Alex and Shadow were warming up by the fireplace when Rouge and Omega walked in, "So boys how'd it go out there?" Rouge Asked with a teasing smile, "Horrible I think we're being mislead" Shadow said sipping some hot coco, "What he means to say is the snow was too thick to really see anything, we'll just have to try again when the snow let's up." Alex answered, "So nothing yet, well couldn't image anyone being outside in this for long periods of time, they'd have a death wish." Rouge said with a giggle.
"maybe I do." Alex said with a smile and chuckle, "the sooner we find something and report it, the sooner we can get out of this Frozen Hell hole, tried of freezing my quills off. Shadow said annoyed. "I believe Shadow needs to how you say 'Take a Chill Pill'." Omega chimed in.
Rouge & Alex Busted out laughing, "Oh man nice one Omega" Alex said laughing. Rouge was holding her side laughing, Shadow didn't find it funny one bit and grunted really annoyed.
Alex slowly stopped laughing and looked at Rouge, Shadow and Omega with a smile, while they were not Spartans he basically saw his old Spartan team in them, it put him at ease knowing he had a team of sorts watching his back especially in A Frozen Hell like this.
