You should draw what, when and how YOU want. Your fans will like anything you put out, since you have such a distinctive style and sense of humour. If you want to move on to something else, that's fine, do it but don't doubt yourself.
I'm not often one to speak up, but when I do, it's always been worth listening to. This story may be short currently, but it's a good one and worthy of continuing. It does portray a valuable concept that many people don't catch, just like this post is displaying. Even if you decide to backburner it, I would not recommend cutting it totally.
