Took those shots while wandering in the city, dunno if that might interest anyone,
but since I found those statues pretty cool, I thought I could just share the pics.

I quite like the eagle dude, that lion looks pretty sad though... T.T

Will put this post into the scraps section later on

Matthieu, or matthew. he wasn't in the shots (i guess) because he's not symbolised by an animal,
but by a winged man (NOT an angel). you can see the tip of his wing near jean (john) in the down-right picture.

The wings interacting with the halo design is rather art-deco, huh?
A fellow, former patron of Da Bun clued me into this ancient Christian anthro, St. Christopher:

Hmm well apparently those are statues that have been removed from the cathedral, so I suppose that they've been made before the art-deco era, but I didn't find much infos about this

The halos and wings have a smooth, low-detail design that evoke the deco, even if the placement of the wings seems medieval. Clearly they were installed some distance from critical eyes, so no effort was wasted on things that were merely framing elements for the figures. These works are certainly in need of refurbishment.
I enjoy the pained and concerned expressions on the faces Mark & John. Luke seems intent upon reading the book (scroll) he is holding up.

Eagle Dude, John, penned the final chapters, prophesized the apocalypse and may or may not have been high as a kite.
