Yeah, unfortunately, creamer does not make a good substitute. Maybe if it was watered down a little it might slightly, but... probably not.

I recently learned that coconut milk also sucks for making Mac & Cheese. Completely ruined the batch. Thankfully only one box, but it was awful (Almond milk does work well, though)
