i have nothing against trans people myself but i feel they do get a bad rap for how often people come across the more "unsavory" types of trans people.
so long as your kind and loving i dont see a reason to dislike you, the world is full of shitty people and shitty things and its up to us to stick together and to make others feel loved and wanted. its up to us to make others enjoy being around others who accept who they are. so long as your not a bad person or do bad things then i feel that you shouldnt get any hate. and just because some "trans" people act out and act all high and mighty or bitchy doesnt mean that every trans person is like that. its just stupid to hate someone just because some bad actors give themselves a bad name or misrepresent other cultures / communities.

It isn't because they are trans, it is because of external outlying factors.
Humans have a negativity bias, and will see one or two bad people in a group, and even if ousted by said group, those people will be used to label the group. This is why the 'Furries are animal fuckers' bullshit happens.

The way you're wording this is an attempt to seem like you're defending trans people, but you're also dog whistling people who hate them. You're pointing out negatives in a vent piece which is supposed to be a cry for help. This is in incredibly bad taste.

You could've just said the very last line and been fine. Pointing out the flaws or negatives was not needed. Pointing out the negative outliers is not needed. There's a time and place, and this isn't it.

I'm gonna fight like hell, but at this point we need to consider a plan B. Canada just to the north has a refugee program called the "Rainbow Railroad". Its near guaranteed asylum from persecution for being LGBT and after Trump's nonsense with the tariffs, they see the danger people are in down here. I know its hard to uproot your life, but it's at least an option while still being able to be yourself should the worst happen to the US.

I know many won't agree with this, especially with the perception that Trump is fated to be the devil. But I wish more trans people made themselves properly understood to those on the right, in which case I know many of them would see better. The way the mainstream LGBT community presented itself to those who hated them, often times with pushy "diversity & inclusion" programs and entitled behaviors, did not help to get the proper point across: The other side will just say "it's these crazy people again coming to push their agenda". Yes, it sucks, but you need to think of how the other side is thinking and sees it.

They need to be shown that most trans people are like everyone else, just as common sense and competent and helpful. There are in fact a few cases: In some countries even a few places in the US, I've heard of trans Republicans even big figures in some conservative parties... there are parts of the Christian church that are slowly getting it too. It's indeed a rare thing, and I'd like to see it happen more often; It likely will but not by being pushy, rather by setting an example, which will inevitably get more to understand and see beyond the propaganda (of either side).

Since before I was born, honestly. They don't care. They either don't think the persecution is real or they do and they want it to happen. They see Trump doing literal fascist things and think it will all be ok. Or claim they think that.

It does, and I hate that people are forced into this kind of political activism when they should be able to just live their lives without anyone bothering them, or legislating against them, or digging into their private business. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm delighted that there are people who speak up and fight for their rights and the rights of others. But Christians have been persecuted for over 2000 years... back then they were crucified, today haters set churches on fire. In my country Romania, we had priests tortured in Communist prisons for decades until the fall of dictator Nicolae Ceausescu in 1989 when I was born. Yet they persevered; No one could erase them because they knew where they stand and didn't give a damn what those who hated them thought. Hopefully nothing too bad will happen, yet whatever it comes down to, go with the same mindset and remember you will be fine!

Mine comes in the form of being coupled with poverty and mental disability. In my case, my very ability to not be on the street starving even apart from the trans issues is under direct attack as well. So I can relate on compounding issues with this nightmare.

Unfortunately, If they get their way, just any trans folk will getting rounded up alongside innocent immigrants. People don't believe that- but those same people have remained blind to everything along the way.

The silver lining is ICE is so incompetent and outside forces are so against what is happening here, that there is pushback. I just hope it gets stronger before it's too late.

Also that we deport Elon Musk.

But I know how you feel. I have different reasons, yet I lived a life of knowing what it's like to have the world wanting to erase you. Been there for over 20 years, lived with that feeling every day... it ultimately led to my near total isolation and a desire to just watch it all burn. I don't want to talk about it openly: I'm a very rare circumstance, so rare it can't even be talked about in words in ways that would make sense to 99% of the world... only hint I can give is this image is accurate just in a different way.

I feel betrayed by the same community that saved me from dark times when I was a teenager in the 00's. This feels so foreign, they feel like imposters. It has contributed to how... isolating, this all is.

I am far from the only one. I learned of no less than five suicides in less than a week. Four transwomen (one of them only a teenager), and one transman. That finally drove me to a place where I just had to make something with my art. Even if it isn't my best technical work, it's raw emotion. It's me.

There are people to whom I, the real person, don't matter as much as my avatar seems to. If they see my fursona hurting, suddenly it hits them. Funny, that.

As a fellow trans whos disabled, and, currently in the states. All I can say is keep your head up and fight for what you believe. In so many states trans people are dying, or going into hiding. I recommend continuing the fight for rights where it is safe to do so, and hiding in the places and times where it isnt. I personally am lucky to be in a safe state, but even then its a matter of how long do we have?

All i can do is offer support for my fellow brethren, and fight for what is right! Stay strong and dont hesitate to reach out if you need a shoulder. <3

Gender dysphoria is not something that just 'happens' when you become an adult, it can happen at any age. Doctors can diagnose it. It isn't "Trans people brainwashing kids". While some kids may identify as trans as a 'fad', they almost always grow out of that when they realize they don't have dysphoria. I thought I was trans, I wasn't. I'm also not hetero-normative either.

In your mind, you think it's just "something that happens" or "an optional change" when it's much much deeper than that.

And extra credit to you idiots who call trans people 'mentally ill'. Your logic is so fucking flawed in calling them that. That is the same as saying someone with depression doesn't deserve treatment, someone with autism doesn't deserve to exist, someone with bi-polar shouldn't be allowed access to their medication, because 'they shouldn't exist for being mentally ill'. The fuck is wrong with you? If they are mentally ill, shouldn't you be HELPING them instead of demonizing them and trying to kill them?!

Not that it should be needed, but there's also some objective, biological evidence supporting trans people found in their brain structure.

Wikipedia states that certain brain regions of some trans women have been found to more closely match those of cis women than those of cis men, while the abstract of Wikipedia's first citation says that it “involves prenatal neuroanatomical changes” and that “the evidence favors a genetic predisposition”.

Which suggests that trans people literally have different brains from birth.

But, again: trans people should be accepted and supported regardless of any objective evidence.

Hell yeah! Delicious sources, that's what I like to see. You found the document I was looking for about the brain structure being different. That's why I compare it to mocking other people with mental problems, because just like those, you can't control having it. You just have it. You also don't 'choose to be trans'. The kids who think they're trans, do not stay trans if they're not. Same as the kids who think they're a dog, usually don't turn into dogs. (They sometimes become furries, lol)

While it's really dark right now, i think the best way to fight is by simply existing, showing that trans people ARE people and if they have a problem well sucks for them because they are here to stay; besides in the best case scenario is that the dinasours that rule United States of America may die really quickly and there's no better way to spite those people like outlive them and live happy as well

There has never been a world without trans people. More competent bigots than Trump have tried to erase us and we are still here.

We've survived worse than the bigots and transphobes could ever withstand. These are really difficult times, and it's going to be hard, but LGBT people are united by a sense of empathy and community that our enemies could never understand. We will outlive them, and their names will be mocked and cursed by our children.

I hope it doesn't come across as peculiar, but I am touched that my (for lack of a better term) vent piece also resonated with a brother and not just my sisters.

I think the open-attacks/smear campaigns are so focused on trans-women that it's easy to be distracted from how much hurt is also befalling trans-men. The recent murder of Sam Nordquist was disturbingly nearby where I live, and hit like a truck, emotionally.

The backslide has been so lightning quick.
