I honestly used to be a centrist, maybe a little left of centre, before the centre started moving right, and adopting fascistic language. When the mask slipped during Gamergate, a lot of self proclaimed centrists revealed that they would rather side with bigots than accept women, people of colour, disabled people, and queer folk into their spaces. It's insane how supposed centrists uphold civility over the actual content of what people speak.
