En Cuba como en América Latina, convergen realidades que abarcan un gran espacio divergente donde... more En Cuba como en América Latina, convergen realidades que abarcan un gran espacio divergente donde se incluyen los distintos sectores de nuestra sociedad. Los desafíos a futuro, no sólo incluyen cerrar las brechas que tienen que ver con el desarrollo económico entre el campo y la ciudad, sino también una serie de metas donde también se contemplan la salud, la educación, la seguridad pública, la estabilidad demográfica, entre otras donde se encuentra el despliegue de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC). Se trata de un desarrollo de alcance horizontal que permite la convergencia del trabajo de diferentes sectores para potenciar y mejorar la calidad de vida de todos, posibilitando un mayor acercamiento sobre el uso de las TIC para potenciar el desarrollo en distintos sectores verticales, convirtiéndola en una herramienta de uso y consulta permanente. La región cuenta con un sector agrícola importante con diversos desarrollos, pero que conforma una parte importante de la economía de nuestros respectivos países. Dentro de ese escenario, el crecimiento de las Tecnologías de la Comunicación y la Información (TIC) abre la posibilidad de potenciar de mejor manera un sector de importancia para la región. Su implementación puede llevarse adelante a partir de planes puntuales desplegados por el Estado o por medio de iniciativas del sector privado (TCP) que busquen mejorar el rendimiento de sus producciones.
