Thanks to the alignment of our calendar and curriculum map this year, we're celebrating DOT DAY at the end of our "Colors All Around" unit. the marciano art foundation in LA has acquired yayoi kusama's giant tulips, as part of one of the artist's famous polka dots installations.

Harumi Nakashima (born 1950) Twisting Back, Mutiplying- Harumi Nakashima is known for the remarkable hand-building skills with which he creates large organic forms strikingly covered in brightly coloured polka dots. He is also a teacher, who has had a great influence on a younger generation of Japanese makers. The sculpture was made of glazed porcelain with decoration in blue.
