Thanks to the alignment of our calendar and curriculum map this year, we're celebrating DOT DAY at the end of our "Colors All Around" unit. Happy International Dot Day, y'all! I thought I'd share with you what my students created for International Dot Day in this here What I Wore post because I'm so stinkin' excited! Harumi Nakashima (born 1950) Twisting Back, Mutiplying- Harumi Nakashima is known for the remarkable hand-building skills with which he creates large organic forms strikingly covered in brightly coloured polka dots. He is also a teacher, who has had a great influence on a younger generation of Japanese makers. The sculpture was made of glazed porcelain with decoration in blue.
