The 1970s must have taken place on a different planet. These photos of men’s fashions from that decade leave us drowning in astounding mustard knits, garish patterns, high waists, way-too-skimpy briefs, and other fashion faux pas that defy description 40 years later. As synthetics fell in price, casual menswear was suddenly available to many young men looking to cut loose.

I studied Graphic Design in Bucharest, Romania and I simply love everything related to visual communication. I try to focus on Information Design because I want to design for need, not for desire. My intention is to communicate the essence of a message with minimal interventions and techniques.

We take our favorite oversized, jewel-colored pieces to Bed-Stuy for a vintage study in style.

I chose to cast people over the age of 60 for a fashion shoot because they are more interesting to me than young, skinny models. I was inspired by the character I saw when taking personal photos of my Grandmother, and I thought why not transform this into an fashion editorial, so I pitched the idea to Vice Magazine. I had wanted to shoot some "leisurewear" for a while, (I really love being comfy - I own a range of slippers), and wanted to give the idea a hip hop angle... think Snoop Dogg…
