But when we eat a pastry for breakfast, (pastry being mostly starchy or sweet), we send our glucose levels on a massive rollercoaster. Two hours later we crash, and here come the feelings of mega fatigue, sluggishness, and cravings for more pastries. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…. Switching to a protein-based savoury breakfast like the egg cup recipe from my second book will radically transform how you feel: steady energy, NO 11am hunger pangs or cravings. And to top it all off, a much healthier body. 

And about those pastries… keep them for dessert after lunch or diner, the moment when they will create less of a spike and fewer consequences on your glucose.
