Wall paintings

When the topic is addressed concerning the appearance of ancient Egyptians, many repeat the generalizations of reddish man and yellow woman. This doesn't "hold water" when we examine it closely. We have the chestnut and hazelnut shell brown, coal black and brazilnut shell brown hues These are most likely "black" folks. You also have, and commonly shown, light reddish, orangish, and yellowish tones - used in ancient Egyptian art for male and female. These are most likely the common modern types, as well as lighter complected "black" or mixed folk. BE SURE TO TAKE A VIRTUAL TOUR of Kheti's chapel (real images). In part 1, click on link for "Ankhtifi, Kheti, and Khnumhotep, scroll to the picture headed "Explore Beni Hasan in 3D" - then click VISIT... You can view it from all angles like the street view on Maps.
