Perch l'illuminazione a LED cos importante Sono notevoli i vantaggi che l'adozione di questa tecnologia porter nel nostro prossimo futuro. Anzitutto le lampade Led permettono un risparmio energetico di circa il 70% rispetto alle lampade tradizionali e allo stesso tempo emettono una maggiore e precisa illuminazione con una luce bianchissima e con scarsa produzione di calore. Le lampade a led hanno inoltre una vita media superiore alle lampade tradizionali e non danno soprattutto inquinamento luminoso. Altri vantaggi evidenti della tecnologia a Led riguardano i tempi daccensione, di fatto istantanea, e la totale assenza di sfarfallii del fascio luminoso, che spesso caratterizzano i tradizionali impianti dilluminazione. I Led sono lampade poco ingombranti, facili da installare, che richiedono poca manutenzione. Questa tecnologia contribuisce a ridurre in maniera sostanziale la bolletta energetica e riduce notevolmente linquinamento atmosferico. Illuminazione a LED: dove si applica. Why LED lighting is so important There are many benefits that the use of this new technology will carry in the near future. First, LED lamps provide energy savings by about 70% compared to traditional lamps and simultaneously emit high and precise illumination with a white light and low heat. LED lamps have an expectancy life greater then traditional bulb and dont have light pollution. LED - LIGHT EMITTING DIODE

Fino a pochi anni fa il LED (Light Emitting Diode), o diodo ad emissione luminosa, era considerato una minuscola fonte di luce colorata, in grado di emettere bassi flussi luminosi e modesti valori di efficienza luminosa; dunque adatto solo per apparecchiature e sistemi di segnalazione o per illuminazione decorativa di piccoli oggetti. Sembrava quindi ben poco utilizzabile per l'illuminazione di ambienti. La recente storia del LED testimonia di un tipico processo di rapida evoluzione tecnologica che ha rilanciato un prodotto ritenuto per lungo tempo di nicchia. Gli sviluppi sono stati sorprendenti: negli ultimi 5 anni il valore dell'efficienza luminosa triplicato (da circa 30 lm/W agli attuali 100 lm/W ) e questo dato in continua ascesa, insieme ad altre prestazioni di indubbio interesse per il progettista. Intorno alla met degli anni 90 si avviava quell'innovazione che avrebbe permesso successivamente di impiegare il LED nell' illuminazione degli ambienti. In Giappone, presso il centro ricerche dell'azienda di componenti elettronici Nichia, un ricercatore (Shuji Nakamura) riusc a incrementare il flusso luminoso del LED che emetteva radiazioni di colore blu. Esistevano gi LED capaci di emettere luce di colore rosso, verde e ambra. L'avvento del LED blu ad alto flusso ha quindi permesso di generare per sintesi additiva dei tre colori primari (rosso, verde e blu, ossia in lingua inglese Red, Green e Blue, da cui la sigla RGB) la luce eterocromatica, ossia di tonalit bianca, utile per l'illuminazione ambientale. Lo stesso Nakamura speriment in quegli anni un altro modo di generazione della luce bianca che avrebbe avuto grande successo: la luce emessa dal LED blu venne in parte filtrata da uno speciale rivestimento a base di fosfori della pastiglia del semiconduttore (il cosiddetto chip) per ottenere la loro trasformazione in radiazioni gialle, le quali, in sintesi con le blu residue, appaiono ai nostri occhi di colore bianco
Until few years ago the LED, or light emitter diode, was regarded as a tiny source of coloured light that can emit low_flow with low values of luminous efficency and therefore only suitable for signaling equipment and systems and for decorative lighting of small objects. It seemed not to be used for ambients lighting, also of small dimensions. Instead, developments have been surprising: in the last five years has tripled the value of luminous efficency (from 30lm/W to over 100lm/W at present) and this value is growing up with other benefits of great interest for light designer. Negli anni lo sviluppo illuminotecnico ha portato il mondo dei LED ad affrontare il problema legato alla Resa Cromatica CRI indice di resa cromatica. Le tonalit di colore maggiormente utilizzate e adatte che raggiungono un CRI/RA 93 sono: Luce calda 3000k, luce neutra 4000k e fredda 6000k. Un alto indice di CRI/RA non dovrebbe influire sui valori di rendimento del LED stesso.
