Start off by filling in a blue teardrop. Make another smaller sideways one coming from the top. Then add a little tiny oval coming from the side of that. And now make two green curved lines going around it. Blend it out with yellow. And then make a bunch of small green teardrop shapes but don't fill them in. Make them evenly spaced and then add more in between them. Keep adding a few layers of that and then use a lighter green to make a bunch more layers. And fill in any large gaps with really small ones. Then blend at the top of the dark teardrop shapes with the lighter green. And then use a shade in between them. And on all of them make lines flicking upwards from both sides. Then on the bottom of that little empty space in the middle add a dot of light blue. And on the darker ones add a darker blue. Then you're going to fill in that white space that's left over with either orange or yellow. I used a mixture of both. Now connect the straight line to the ones closest to the center. And make lines flaring outwards from both sides of that line. And do that wherever you see significant gaps. And then blend it out with a lighter green. Now add a black teardrop going around the peacock's head and add black dots to the bottom of all the darker blue circles. Then add dark blue to all the lighter blue circles. And go over the edge of all the outermoser feathers with a light yellow. Then outline the teardrop shape with a white pen. As well as the inner perimeter of the black teardrop on the head. And add these little white lines flicking upwards from all of the feathers. You can go over them once they dry with light green. Then add some long yellow legs at the bottom with three toes.

This is from last year, but it's such a fun one... | By Andrea Nelson Art | Want to paint something for Halloween. Let's do it. White. Little black on the same brush. Not washed. I'm really excited about this. The white is wet and we are swiping the black up into it so it's making a gradient. Think like spooky fog. Little black on a smaller brush. These are the background trees so they're going to be really light and that's why we're working on the wet paint. Take your bigger brush and wipe all the paint off so that it's nice and dry. Swipe the brush over just the bottom part of the trees to make the grout. Let it dry. Mix a little black and white together to get a medium gray. It's more spooky trees. These are the middle trees they're a little bit darker than the background trees. Now we're going to do just black for the trees that are closest to us. These guys are going to have the most details but I hold the brush lightly so that they look all shaky and spooky. Then I added some black to darken up the ground a little bit. Let it dry completely. Time for a ghost. If you're scared, none of the ghosts but of painting the ghost. Gonna be so much easier than you think. Very clean brush. Water down your white so that it's really runny. This is going to make them look transparent. This is just a run of the mill traditional ghost shape. Very simple. I got it a little too transparent so I added a little bit more white. Then, I used some straight white to just outline it and put some waves in the sheet and paint marker for the eyes. I really love Halloween so there's going to be a lot of stuff. Keep your little little kids busy for a long time. Contact paper or press and seal wrap. Draw a ghost shape on your contact paper. Doesn't have to be fancy. A not-so-scary one since it's for kids. We're going to put it up sticky side out just by folding over the top. If you think your kids might pull it down, tape it up there. Kid just tears up white tissue paper, sticks it on. If your kid goes outside the line, it's okay. Another sheet on the top. Very friendly ghost. We're doing another spooky sketchbook page with circles. Circles. I'm going to trace a couple of big circles and a couple of medium-sized circles. The only rule for the circles is that you definitely want to use a waterproof marker. So, I'm using a Sharpie. Now, we trace a smaller circle inside. You see what I'm doing? I feel like that was pretty subtle. They're going to be eyeballs, watercolor paints. We're going to put just plain water in the center circle. Then, drop in whatever colors you like. There are no rules this. You can put in any colors. This is where you get to just enjoy the mixy mixy magic of watercolor. Gotta let these dry. I'm going to draw in the pupil with a Sharpie. I did this trivia night for charity one night on live and one of the questions was what is the. of an eye called and I very proudly wrote pupil on my little whiteboard. They meant the. of like the letter I. It was not. It was not my finest moment. White paint pen for the highlights. If you are ever on a trivia night where you to answer that question. The answer is tittle. I was on this thing with a bunch of calligraphers and they all got it right. Every single one of them. I was the only one with pupil. So sad. And even if I had understood the question, I didn't know the answer. I didn't know that. But I do now and so do you. So, there's that. I'm probably not going to do trivia again but we will do more sketchbook stuff.
