This is an invaluable skill they will take with them for the rest of their lives! I like the idea of having a calming kit basket because it allows you to either designate a calming space or the child can take the kit to a safe space at their choosing. DIY Sensory/ Reading Fort

My last classroom had a sensory room. It was basically a little room (about 6 ft. X 5 ft) that we painted the walls black and added a variety of sensory things.
