1.8M views · 64K reactions | an entire dining set…for FREE? 🤔👏🏻 I never stopped my car so fast when I saw this full dining room table and chairs on the side of the road. I packed every last piece into my trunk and was outta there, no questions asked 🏃🏻‍♂️💨 From my absolutle least favorite orange stain to a modern farmhouse style dining set just like that. I am able to relist it for $500, I had a lot of fun with this one and really felt like I brought this garbage bound dining set back to life 👏🏻🤗 What do you guys think, let me know down in the comments ❤️ • • • • • • • • • • #furnitureflip #furnitureflipeover #paintedfurniture #upcycledfurniture #furniture #upcycle #furnitureartist #homedecor #furnituredesign #DIY #refinishedfurniture #vintagefurniture #vintage #chalkpaint #interiordesign #chalkpaintedfurniture #chalkpaintedfurnitureiturepainter #refurbishedfurniture #handpaintedfurniture #upcycled #upcycling #fusionmineralpaint #diyhomedecor #handpainted #paintedfurniturelove #furnitureflipper #restoredfurniture #furniturepainting | Flip Hut | Flip Hut · Original audio

1.3M views · 33K reactions | DETAILS ➡️ The faux-wood Pottery Barn-inspired look is so popular right now. It is not hard to do with a little practice and it does NOT have to be done on solid wood. So grab that old piece of IKEA furniture you were finally going to get rid of and give it a try! 147K views · 24K reactions | If I was just starting out today with no tools + no garage, THIS is how I would flip every single piece. The ‘pottery barn’ finish sells fast & for top $$$. I bought this piece for $50 and will list it at $425💰 Here’s how I did it: + scuff sand with 150 grit + vacuum/wipe away dust to prep for primer + apply 3 coats of Zinnser bullseye 1-2-3 primer tinted in the color turbo tan (this will give you a wood colored base) and sand lightly with 320 grit before third coat. + apply two coats of my favorite pickled oak gel stain.. drag the the whisk broom across lightly to create texture & grain. + apply one coat of the minwax aged oak gel stain and wipe away with paper towels.. making sure to blend in any steaks. + apply two coats of minwax poly top coat in clear satin with a foam roller That’s it! Comment LIST and I will send you the 9 item shopping list for this exact flip!👏🏻 | molly harris | diy furniture flips | The Zombies · Time of the Season (Chelsea FC & Harvey Gunn Remix)

279 reactions · 15 shares | If we are doing a paint wash, we hardly ever bleach wood, but sometimes we come across pieces that have stains in wood. To remove those stains we simply just use household bleach, a one-to-one ratio. We apply to the whole piece so that it’s even, sometimes we need more than one coat. Once stains have disappeared we wash off diluted beach with water. Also, direct some light really helps. • • • • • • • #Furniture #VintageFurniture #Vintage #BleachingWood #DIY #Thrifting #DIYFurniture #PaintedFurniture #Refurbished #Antique #AntiqueFurniture #FurnitureDesign #FurnitureMakeover | Angelina & Tom | Furniture Refinishing 🖌️ | sasabylopez · Original audio
25K views · 2.7K reactions | MORE ⬇️⬇️ ✅Follow + comment “WOOD” for links (**‼️sometimes settings won’t let us message if you aren’t following‼️!) There is an abundance of ways to lighten (or darken) furniture pieces but these are some tried and true methods we continue to use (🚨note that all but the faux wood methods do recommend at least a good scuff sand for best results!) 1. Paint washes. 3:1 Ratio of water and paint, brushed on and wiped off. Layer as needed and seal with a topcoat. 2. Wood bleach. This @zinsser one is a two-part system, wiping on part A, waiting a few minutes before adding part B and letting it sit overnight. Repeat as needed (ideal for stubborn stains). 3. Faux wood kits. For this more rustic look, apply the bottom primer color (this one has actual wood particles for an authentic feel and finish) and then the glaze, using the wood tool to make the grain look. Comes with a topcoat to seal it in. Great for fake wood pieces you want to update or real wood you don’t want to completely sand down to natural. 4. Gel stains. This brand has a built in topcoat, though you can add a clear furniture wax for extra durability. Mist water onto natural surface, apply, and wipe off with the grain. Repeat as needed. Which method do you prefer or do you do something ditterent? 55K views · 5.9K reactions | ⚡️Our YouTube video is out for this piece! ✨ Comment ‘VIDEO’ and I’ll dm it to you. Details⤵️ Our client came to us with a problem that this piece no longer fit the aesthetics of their home and asked if it were possible to lighten the look and ideally without painting it. We used a 2 part wood bleach with great success! Although it’s not guaranteed how the wood will react we were lucky enough to achieve the best possible outcome! ‘Bleach’ isn’t all made from the same ingredient. Only 1 of these will remove natural colour from wood ⤵️ Here’s a breakdown of each type and what they do to wood: 1. Oxalic acid ➡️ this one helps remove stains in wood such as water stains. If you apply it over a whole surface it can give the appearance of a lighter look by removing light surface staining. Here’s a Tip! Bar keepers friend has a small amount of oxalic acid in it so it can be great for making a paste and sitting on top of a stain. 2. House hold/laundry bleach➡️ Chlorine based bleach will remove dye from wood or offending bacteria but it won’t alter the natural colour. It can also destroy a component of the wood called lignin, altering the cellular structure causing it to break down. 3. Two part Wood Bleach ➡️ (what we used) Two part wood bleach is the only one that will remove or alter the natural colour from wood. It is Sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide. It’s not guaranteed on all types of wood and the results will vary. Some wood won’t respond well. Ps. If you are in Australia and use the @litenit_wood_bleach kit (which is what I used) their formula is non toxic. #woodbleach #bleachedwood #mahoganysideboard #reginishedfurniture #australianfurniture | Ashley Krug | Paul Russell · Say Cheese
46K views · 6.9K reactions | I found this beautiful Victorian era dresser at @thriftatthewarehousesatx and I knew it had so much potential! The missing hardware and dated orange finish that covered so much of the beautiful wood grain definitely needed to be removed. I started by cleaning and stripping the old finish and sanding everything nook and cranny to make sure I had a nice raw wood surface for my paint wash. I used Fusion mineral paint in the color “Algonquin” for a paint wash and sealed with my favorite topcoat for a light finish. I used Wise Owl furniture salve to freshen up the drawers and highlight those beautiful knapp joints 😍 I just love how the beaded detail looks on the side along with the updated hardware and keyhole covers! 3M views · 115K reactions | This works for paint and stain⤵️ 1. Brush on - We use a basic chip brush. Brush it on liberally and allow it to set for 15 - 20 minutes. Touch up any areas that dry out during that time. Some stubborn finishes may require repeat applications. Comment ✨️ STRIP ✨️ for the link to our supplies sent straight to your inbox! 2. Scrap off - Use a solvent proof plastic scraper to remove the excess. We use a plastic drop sheet to collect the runoff residue on the floor that makes for easy cleanup. 3. Scrub with water - this is the key trick. Use a scrub brush with water to scrub down the residue. This works great for detailed areas that are difficult to sand. You can use After Wash instead of water if desired, but it isn't necessary. 4. Wipe down with wet cloth - We use a terry cloth rag to wipe down the surface. Rinse in the water and wipe again. Allow to dry at least 24 hours before proceeding. 5. Fine finish sanding - Each piece varies. We use 220 grit most often to do a light finish sand to even out the color. Use your discretion as to what grit is needed. . . . #savedbydesign #furnituredesign #furnitureflip #diy #paintedfurniture #homeinspo #homedecor #home #painting | Jennifer Beck | Counting Crows · Mr. Jones
1M views · 39K reactions | ⬇️ Comment ‘STEPS’ for the VIDEO/products/steps to achieve this natural raw finish! ⚡️Yep! After many requests, i have recorded an extended YouTube VIDEO for you! 🎉 Our clients vintage Maple sideboard was fully sanded down to raw then given a paint wash to act as a barrier between the natural golden orange tones of the maple wood and the top coat. The ratio of 1 parts paint to 10 parts water is the lightest paint wash we have found possible with most pieces where visible paint isn’t left on the timbers surface. It soaks right in. However you can do the ratio of your choosing for the look you want! This technique is possible over naturally light timbers, red timbers will bleed red tannins. I’ve seen some success with green paint washes over red timbers but unfortunately it’s not guaranteed. Don’t be limited to light paint washes! Essentially you’re creating a waterbased stain, try out tans, browns, blues, greys and black! Colour correcting with paint washes is also another great tip! ⚡️Products: ⬇️ -Top Coat: @monocel.timbercare waterbased satin varnish -The paint wash we used was a mix of left over whites but a suggested mix to try is @purecopaint in the colour Calico. Mixed 1 parts paint to 10 parts water. #paintwashfurniture #furniturerefinishing #furnitureflip #bluewreninteriors #australianfurniture | Ashley Krug | Hozier · Too Sweet
