Applying a paint wash can drastically change the appearance! ⚡️If you’d like details on what we used comment ‘WASH’ for a list. ➡️ How we do it : 🗝️apply the paint wash over raw wood and wipe it off with a cloth. We like a 1 parts paint to 10 parts water ratio however you can choose the amount of paint you’d like. 🗝️wipe it off with a cloth and let it dry overnight 🗝️lightly hand sand with 320-400grit sandpaper to smooth out the raised grain, wipe down. 🗝️apply 2 coats of waterbased sealer or wax. ⚡️Follow for more!"

I notice when I use Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser on raw wood… it actually lightens it up! After some looking into it, the main ingredient in BKF is Oxalic acid (which is a bleaching agent). In the past, I’ve used diluted clothing bleach to lighten wood but there’s a few factors in that technique I didn’t like.
