Dr. Jacob Van Den Meerendonk, PT, DPT on Instagram: "Who here has felt with vertigo or BPPV👋 Me here too🙋🏻 and it’s common to have lasting effects of feeling “off” after a bout of vertigo because your nervous systems are now trying to figure out how to cooperate again. One way that helps sync up the vestibular system with the ocular/visual system is to perform these exercises daily. Move your head back and forth or up and down as shown in the video. It’s important to keep the thumb in focus, so if you are seeing more than one thumb slow it down or don’t move as far left or right. Make sense? Let me know!⬇️ #vertigo #vestibuloocularreflex #dizziness"

Dr. Chris McElderry | Neurologic Clinical Specialist on Instagram: "😅 Trying to talk into a camera and make an educational video is much harder than it looks! Anyway, back to the post.. BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo). 😵‍💫BPPV is one of the most common diagnoses in individuals that complain of dizziness. Tiny calcium-carbonate crystals housed in organs inside your vestibular system (inner ear) become dislodged and float in one of the semi-circular canals (most likely the posterior canal which is ~90% of cases). This can severely effect one’s balance, energy levels and even cognitive function. When this occurs, people typically experience a room or self-spinning, dizziness, that lasts for only a few seconds, and possibly up to a minute (canalithiasis) with change in positio
Katey Yurko on Instagram: "EYEBALL LOVE. I do these eye exercises / vision exercises a few times a week. My mom is an eye doctor and I learned so much from her! Even learned different ways of thinking about the eyeballs (how it is tied to beauty- @anastasiabeautyfascia speaks on this) and I just want to say- a TINY effort, with consistency, goes a long way. #visionexercises #eyeexercises #eyeexercises👀 #improvingvision #improvingeyesight"
Dr. Joe Damiani - TMJ, Head & Neck Specialist on Instagram: "Do you have #tinnitus or ringing in the ears? Have you went to the #ENT or #audiologist and they say your ears are fine? Well did you know that some types of tinnitus can be caused due to soft tissue and mechanical (movement) issues. In this video, we look at one of the possible causes, the #masseter muscle. This muscle is also known to mimic sinusitis (pressure among ear and eye). If that sounds like you, this release is definitely worth a try! When releasing this muscle pay attention to if it impacts the intensity, frequency or duration of the ringing you experience. Comment ‘Ear’ on this post if you have more questions or need help figuring this out! #tinnitus #tinnitusrelief #tmjdisorder #ringingears #tmj #tmd #dentis

Missy Bunch | Movement + Neurology for Pros 👀🧠💪🏽 on Instagram: "🙌🏽 Let’s hear it for the vestibular system 🙌🏽 The vestibular system is key to balance and movement, so assessing it should be part of your toolkit. 🏃🏻‍♀️ Got any runners or joggers on your roster? 🐴 Horseback riders? 🏋🏻‍♀️ People that squat or lunge a lot? Their saccules NEED to be assessed mi amigo! One effective way to assess their saccules based on their sport is by changing up the position, speed, and load of movements. ↕️For instance, try a quick drop down followed by a slow rise—this targets sacculum stimulation. This approach can reveal how the vestibular system might be affecting your client’s performance or even their pain levels 😖 By playing with these variables, you can get a clearer picture

Mother Nature Heals on Instagram: "In traditional Chinese medicine, ear acupressure can be used to improve the blood circulation by delivering more oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. The ear serves as a microsystem of the entire body. The nerves from the ear connect with the reflex centers in the brain. Stimulating acupressure points in your ear can effectively send messages to the spinal cord and the part of the body being targeted. This simple and quick three minutes ear massage not only promote the blood circulation in the face and neck , active the lymphatic symptoms, help with anti-aging. Because ear is a complete Microsystem, there are acupoints that correspond to every part of the body . This three minutes exercise also a very good technique to connect our inner organ
