“The new bone sprang avidly to meet your fingers, as though you were lovers joining hands after a long time apart.”

That lovely Arm scene with Harrow and Ianthe
I’m getting genuinely emotional y’all don’t understand how ISOLATING it can be when cultural dress for most other Asian countries are popular and represented and Filipino clothing barely is, LET ALONE PRE-COLONIAL?!
I- 🥹
I hope to find the time and energy to fulfil my dream of making the clothes and dressing like this
I'm Filipino and seeing this did something to me in a good way

I personally think that we don't appreciate enough the fact that Stede Bonnet is legitimately unhinged and that Edward Teach finds this incredibly sexy.
That man replaced munitions with marmalade, brought tapas to a meeting with the Spanish navy, suggested negotiating in ecclesiastical Latin, and stole the Queen of Pirates' wheel. He later informs them all that it's only a suicide mission "if we die."
He ran away from home to become a pirate with no discernible skills as a sailor or fighter and survived solely on the strength of being That Bitch.
Ed finds this irresistible. Nothing has ever been sexier.

it's been a minute since i last made a bug girl, and i felt it was Time. i picked a beetle mostly because i wanted to see if i could make separately articulated wings & wing covers look nice, and it spiraled from there.
i'm not sure where the porcelain inspiration came from, but i think i've seen ceramic beetles with floral patterns before. the patterns are cut out from napkins, with some additional handpainted details.
i don't usually give my bug girls hair, but i recently thrifted a package of blonde curls and wanted to use them. i suppose having Traditional Doll Hair extends the joke of her being a porcelain doll.
