rn i think this could be down to volition being of the opinion that the boss is THE main character and therefore everything must revolve around them. “what if this happened to the boss?” “how would the boss react if this happened?” like first of all you don’t know my boss like that
secondly it seemed in sr1 and to an extent 2 that stilwater itself was the main character. playa barely even speaks! everything that happens happens because of stilwater, happening TO stilwater. and that’s what gave it such a large scale of depth and an identity

the difference between johnny and dex is that one of them is actually on medication and it’s not the one you think
johnny uses a day of the week pill box to make sure he stays on his meds but dex thinks he’s the only normal person and it’s everyone else who needs help
some of the most atmospheric games i’ve played owe a lot of that to the score and i can’t stop thinking abt there being some kind of quiet background score during sr1. it plays more obviously during missions and changes vibes with neighbourhoods but what if there was always just this underlying sense of anxiety, of something unsettling. bc what you’re actually doing is pretty fucked up right but also to set the scene for the final mission
srtt puts so much emphasis on shaundi picking up a gun and using it that you’d expect it to be her first time using one. and i think it should be! she was their girl with the connections, she was a pothead with ideas. i wish phillipe was her first ever kill
