Dissolving water soluble fabric from embroidery art
Water supple fabric is the magic ingredient of my artwork. It is what allows me to create my lace like embroidered sculpture. When coupled with a freehand machine embroidery technique the creative possibilities are endless. A few common questions I get asked whenever I post a video like this: What is this fabric? • The material that I stitch onto is a water soluble fabric. It is a common stabiliser used in machine embroidery available from sewing stores. Is this fabric bad for the environment? • The fabric is advertised as being environmentally friendly and 100% biodegradable 👍 How does the embroidery hold together when the fabric is removed? • It’s all in how you stitch it? 😉 What will this become? • These embroideries will be mounted and framed as original artworks.
