Jess | Sensory Play with a sprinkle of mindfulness on Instagram: "⚠️ Warning ⚠️ this is really really messy play and a whole heap of fun!! CHIA SLIME Another one of my favourite messy play bases. Here’s what you’ll need 🟢 1/4 cup chia seeds 🟢 2 cups water (you can always add more if you want a slimier consistency 🟢 Food colouring 🟢 1/2 cup corn flour I tripled the recipe for me to be able to use this between 2 trofast tubs. You can literally use this base for any theme or simply for some fun messy play - just change the colour! MISS FARAH TUTORIALS on Instagram: "🎈CHIA SEEDS SENSORY BIN The perfect sensory bin for your toddler who puts everything in his mouth! All you need is 1/4 cup of chia seeds, 1 3/4 cups of water and food colouring. I placed them in the refrigerator overnight. It’s a bit messy, but I loved the colours and the jelly consistency. It was kind of like slime but taste-safe! You have to try it, your little one will love it. ❤️save this activity for later ❤️Tag a friend who would love this!" As a pediatric occupational therapist and mom, I’ve been on the lookout for a taste-safe putty that’s easy to clean and provides great sensory play.

This recipe has become my favorite because it’s low-mess, less sticky than soaked chia seeds or oobleck, and easy to clean off hands.

The texture is amazing for heavy work, strengthening the intrinsic muscles of the hand, and offering resistance activities that support sensory regulation. I highly recommend this one!

Comment for a list of ingredients if you’d like to make sure you have everything ready to buy!

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons chia seeds, 1 cup water, ½ to 1 cup cornstarch, Food coloring (optional)

Instructions:

	1.	Soak the chia seeds: Mix 2 tablespoons of chia Yogurt Sensory Play, Chia Seed Sensory Play, Food Sensory Activities, Sensory Hands, Taste Safe Sensory Play, Muscles Of The Hand, Taste Safe Sensory, Putty Recipe, Best Playdough Recipe

We made slime from chia seeds, water and cornflour (cornstarch) plus food colouring to give a rainbow effect. Fun to make with children, and an intriguing substance to play with, behaving like a mix between a solid and a liquid. Less messy than oobleck. #chiaseeds #slime #chiaslime #rainbowslime #sensoryplay #scienceathome #makingslime #preschoolscience #primaryscience #kidsscience Chia Seed Slime, Chia Seeds Water, Cornstarch Slime, Chai Seed, Rainbow Slime, Edible Slime, Primary Science, How To Make Slime, Food Colouring
