SLIM KITCHEN + ISLAND 🏝️ In an ideal world, we’d have extended the kitchen area out so we could have had a big 1.5m deep island and lots of seating. The reality is that that would have been way too expensive especially as we would have needed piling. We fitted a slim (0.7m deep) island, with no seating but it houses our dishwasher, wine cooler, the sink with storage, and a set of drawers. It doesn’t feel too tight and there’s enough room for us both to cook 👩🏾‍🍳 Island With No Seating, Slim Kitchen Island, Sink With Storage, Island With Sink, Slim Kitchen, Kitchen Island Storage, Island Storage, Kitchen Island With Sink, Ideal World

Christina Serrano on Instagram: "The kitchen triangle means the fridge • sink • stove are no less than 4’ apart + no more than 9’. This is ideal, BUT I lived without the triangle, and it was fine because the workspace was spacious, with
tools (knives, pots, utensils) all by the stove!

🚩 Equally as important is WIDTH from island to cabinets! 3ft is industry standard; I suggest 4ft from island to cabinets. It’s NOT too much!! Mine are 4’2” apart! This means cabinets don’t hit island cabinets when both are open, or when the dishwasher(s) are open, someone else can walk by / put dishes away from behind the open door. A couple can cook together happily. Kids can help dad while he cooks (and you watch 😉), etc!

❤️curious where something is from? Comment link and I’ll DM you my kitchen sourc Kitchen Triangle, Cooking Together, Walking By, Work Space, Canning
