Typography in advertising

Design Inspiration: Typography in Advertising - DesignM.ag

This advertisement stuck out to me because instead of an image, an illustration is created using text. I thought this was unique because it gets across the idea of a coffee cup, but within the coffee cup there are words describing Starbucks and their products. I like the complementary color scheme because they set a warm tone and feel to the advertisement. There is also visual hierarchy within the coffee cup text because the more important words are larger within the cup.

This pin uses typography to form the shape of a bottle, which relates to the chocolate milk metaphor it uses. It is an advertisement against drugs, and it wouldn't have as much meaning or be as unique without the cartoon-ish text in the bottle shape.
