Formerly known as patellar tendinitis, this refers to pain in front of the knee just below the knee cap. Tendinopathy usually affects people between 15-30 years and one of the most common complaints is pain near the tendon with activity like walking downhill/down stairs, and those that require repetitive jumping and cutting.
