Living in London with a little garden and knowing lots of people who want to grow but don’t have outdoor space I’m always thinking of ways that everyone can get growing something to eat. You don’t have to be self sufficient for growing food to be worth it. The fun in the project, the process, the learning and the harvest can be achieved in the smallest spaces. Microgreens are packed with nutrients, flavour, look great and grow so fast and you can grow them in practically anything, but there is something especially pleasing about these little tins lined up on the windowsill. Here I’ve grown -Broccoli, Cress, Pink kale, Pak Choi and Radish Sango. I have been asked many times about what to do in the garden each month, when to start seeds, what’s good for each season - so I’m really excited to say I’ve launched a platform where people can grow along with me. I’ll be sharing what I’m sowing, growing, harvesting and eating as well as fun new projects and for all those who’ve been after more audio content, there will be audio versions of some of the content too. 46K views · 9K reactions | How I got rid of my fire ants organically in my TX garden! Using Beneficial Nematodes from @naturesgoodguys at least once per cool weather season I've been able to reduce not only my fire ants but grubs, fleas and corn ear worms have drastically reduced as well! BN need to be applied when temps are consistently 80°F and below and they need lots of moisture to travel where they need to go. So pick a cool time frame with preferably some rain in the forecast to apply them. 1 application can cover THOUSANDS of sq ft so spray everything because they don't hurt pets humans or anything! #texasgardening #gardentips #fireants #pestcontrol #beneficialnematodes | Vanessa Minton

I use cardboard that are dye-free (no ink) without wax coating. Remove all labels & tapes. You can look for a stamp on the cardboard indicating it is 100% compostable and/or 100% recycled. 📦 Mulch : Use Cardboard without ink. Remove tapes & labels, cut into small pieces and put on top of your soil. It will protect & nourish your soil. 📦 Use it as plain Mulch : Cut it into a circle shape & place on your pots. By avoiding light on the soil, this will suppress weeds but also will keep your soil warmer. 📦 Feed your worms : This will nourish worms along with food scraps. Worms will also use the cardboard cells to lay their eggs and reproduce themselves. Cardboard are also a great additive to your compost adding brown materials. Plant the ones that sprout after your last frost-free date, and the soil has warmed. (Late February or March here in the low desert). Want my free Ginger & Turmeric Growing Guides plus more pre-sprouting tips? Comment “SPROUT” below, and I’ll DM you the links.
