But I find it so funny buying a bag of something that is literally laying on the ground - FOR FREE! So, let’s make our own! The first thing you will need to do is find conifers (these are trees that produce cones). Then comes the fun part - hunting for cones on the ground! You should easily find them scattered about the understory of the trees. Once you have gathered enough, bring them home & set them outside for a bit to give bugs a chance to escape. Then it’s time to bake them on a low temperature to dry them out, make sure they are bug free & to melt off/bake in any sap that is on the pinecones.
