Grandmama's diary

The first moment I held my grand daughter I suddenly thought 'this is what it must feel to be a father'! I hadn't carried Carla around in my body, felt her move and grow beneath my skin, nor held her safe in that sacred space between my hips and my backbone, shared stem cells through our blood, but... Someone I would crawl across glass for had, I held her and knew her as blood of my blood and bone of my bone - tribe. This was a life changing moment.
