If the finish looks wore out in some areas you might need to address the finish. For regular maintenance most pieces all you need to do a wipe down with a dust cloth or mild dish soap and water. To get a long life out of your furniture you want to ensure you have your furniture in a temperature controlled area. Also you will want to ensure you keep the humidity levels around 40-50%. Be aware of UV rays can wear down a finish so consider your furniture placement as well.
