Backstory:
After Smokehaze, Octostar's mate left the clan (made up for this au, check the family tree post i made for more info), he was only pushed further into grief and resentment. Convinced he would never find true love again, he began sleeping around with random cats, one of those encounters leaving him with Eightkit. Clouded by grief and embarrassment, he put all his focus and care into his first daughter,ย Coralmist, and she was so caught up in her rigorous training to be the one to save Octoclan that she was forgotten about. After news that Coralmist had gone missing, Eightpaw had hoped that this meant her father would finally notice her. But unfortunately, this pushed him further into depression and became completely closed off to everyone. Clan life became even more miserable than ever, which eventually drove Eightpaw to venture off, looking for something, anything else. Unfortunately, she found the metro, and abandoned twoleg laboratory that was being controlled by a mysterious entity (ill go into that later) and where she discovered many cats, mostly Octoclan cats, had ended up as well (though they did not meet a great fate). There, she ran into Cuttlestar and Cloverbeak as well as a former Octoclan cat changed beyond recognition. After a bunch of stuff happens that I'll go into later, they escape when Coralmist and Pearlnose find them and help with all that stuff. Coralmist feels really bad about leaving her family and her clan, and of course invites Eightpaw to join Inkclan where they finally resolve any resentment between them and kindle a relationship they were never able to have before. Then stuff with side order happens that is just a whole other thing for another day.

i've always really liked this idea due to how it could sew those extra seeds of resentment for thistleclaw and make tigerclaw's eventual betrayal of bluestar all the more hard-hitting. i'd like to think that despite tigerpaw being a huge pain in the ass at first - having very little respect for bluefur (and it basically being the wc equivalent of a female teacher being assigned to privately tutor a misoginistic teenage boy obsessed with redpill content) - but she eventually begins to break down his walls a little with some tough love and positive reinforcement - something that thistleclaw mostly denied him

Mate: Pearlnose (Pearl)
Sons: Molluskkit (adopted) (Smollusk)
Backstory:
Coralmist was always beloved by her father more than anything, especially after his mate left. (see family tree video for more context) Octostar always imagined Coral to be the one to take back the beach and put her through rigorous training (apprenticing her and making her a warrior early) to ensure that she would she would be the strongest she could be. Coral had always looked up to her father and even though she often felt much too pressured to be like him. On her first battle mission outside on the beach, seeing the freedom Inkclan had, feeling the breeze in fheir fur, playing and having fun, she suddenly began to change how she felt about her clan and her father. One night she snuck out, leaving behind everything she had known. Thankfully, Pearlnose found her and took her into the clan, and she fit in perfectly since Pearl was from a well-respected family. Despite feeling free, she does still sometimes feel the guilt for leaving her much forgotten sister, best friend, and even her father, though she does resent him a bit (she still loves him.) And eventually she helps save her sister and deadfish from the metro but I'll explain that with eights story, aaand side order I'll get into later but it's gonna be a lot of her guilt eating away at her

I made gale look really ugly on accident ๐ญ either way I just had to get these ideas out there bg3 has absorbed all my thoughts
i started replaying bg3 again and wanted to remake my wc shadowheart design and add a little story to her
basically she's the shadowclan medicine cat who follows the teachings of the place of no starts instead of starclan (at first) until eventually idk stuff happens and dark forest/starclan shenanigans turn her fur white and she escapes that part of herself
Dj Octavio/Octostar (formerly tentaclesplash) leader of Octoclan and former warrior of Inkclan. Basically Inkclan was originally the only clan but after the great flood and loss of territory a group of cats who lived separate from the main group were forced out and into an underground cave system and Octostar was appointed leader. There has been a lot of tension since, but the relationship between the clans is slowly mending
