At Mergify, we've spent the past year transforming how we work, creating a system that aligns deeply with our values and team culture. It wasn't just about finding the right tools or workflows but building a process that respected autonomy, fostered ownership, and embraced how we work best as a small, remote-first team. This is the story of how we redefined project management at Mergify and why team culture should always guide your workflow choices. https://lnkd.in/eeUuJcU9

I shared our failures; it's time to share what we did right at Mergify. ✌️ I regularly meet entrepreneurs and tech founders, and I regularly identify a pattern: engineers focus too much on their tech. Truth is, I had this conversation (again) with a tech founder yesterday evening. 😅 Read below if you want to learn more about this ⬇️ (link in comment)

Today, we are thrilled to announce not one but two new features to illuminate your day! Introducing Merge Protections 🛡️ Designed to complement GitHub’s branch protection and rulesets, Merge Protections allows for advanced customization and control over your merge workflows, addressing the specific needs of your projects. While GitHub’s native branch protection and rulesets provide a strong foundation, their customization options can be somewhat limited. This is where Mergify steps in. Merge Protections offers the flexibility to define nuanced conditions that the native system can’t handle. Advanced Conditions: Create highly specific rules based on any pull request metadata. Dependencies: Manage dependencies between pull requests seamlessly. Scheduled Merges: Ensure merges happen at the right time. Freeze: Schedule one-time or recurring total or partial freezes for your repository. This powerful feature is available straight from your Mergify dashboard. For more details, check out our documentation: https://lnkd.in/eHC2bNsY Announcing the Mergify Chrome Extension! 🎉 We’re also excited to launch the Mergify Chrome Extension! This handy tool adds new buttons to your GitHub UI, giving you fast access to Mergify commands and shortcuts to your dashboard. It’s light, non-intrusive, and designed to enhance your workflow effortlessly. Ready to give it a try? Install it from your dashboard and experience a smoother GitHub experience! We’d love to hear your thoughts and any improvements you’d like to see. Feel free to share your feedback anytime! 💬

What a month of April for the Mergify team! On April 11, we organized the very first edition of CI/CDay, a brand-new European event dedicated to CI/CD. Around a hundred people, including our 6 speakers and 6 sponsors, came from all over Europe to take part in the festivities! Shout out to Mathieu Poissard, who managed everything from the idea to the complete organization of the event. The following week, we followed up with Devoxx France, Mergify's first exhibition. In addition to inspiring conferences and meetings, it was also an opportunity for the whole team to get together!
