Please merge instead of blanking

Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them as you did with the page Q65161900. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. We do this by making one item a redirect for the other. In particular, item ids are intended to be a permanent identifier, so we never reuse them for another concept. Nomen vs cognomen

Hello! You recently created Datianus (Q92150603), but I'm not sure it would be any different than Datianus (Q91567851), which was correctly, I believe, reclassified as a cognomen. legionary (Q1629605) and Roman legionary (Q17346959)

Hello. I don't think your changes on those items are right. The first one was about any classe of legionary, without distinction between e. g. French Foreign Legion and Legionary ; indeed, a lot of articles mix various use of the term legionary together, e. g. Legionary#Other_legionaries. The second one however is specificaly about the Roman legionary, which is then a subclass of the first. Please answer this message, thanks. --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 18:10, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

I have deleted some of your newly created items because they did not comply with Wikidata's notability policies. You seem to have created a new classification system. Unfortunately, you haven't provided any references to back up your choice, so it could well be a made-up system which is why I have reverted it all. As you have disregarded my warning and decided to ignore Wikidata's notability policy to keep creating non-notable items, you have been blocked for a week. Hello. I see that you have been asked repeatedly not to blank items by removing claims, when they should instead be merged. I would like to assume your good faith here, but you continue to do this (as with Gonzalo Pizarro Rodríguez de Aguilar (Q5582238)) and have not responded to any of these requests. Indeed, it does not appear that you have ever responded to any messages on your talk page. I regret that if you continue to act in this way, we will be reluctantly forced to treat it as vandalism and block your account.
