Wikidata je slobodna, povezana baza podataka koju mogu čitati i urediti i ljudi i strojevi.
Wikidata služi kao centralno spremište strukturiranih podataka svojih bratskih Wikimedijinih projekata uključujući Wikipediju, Wikivoyage, Wikisource i druge.
Wikidata također pruža podršku mnogim drugim siteovima i servisima izvan samih Wikimedijinih projekata! Sadržaj Wikidate dostupan je po slobodnoj licenci, izvozi se koristeći standardne formate i može se međusobno povezati s drugim otvorenim skupovima podataka na webu povezanih podataka.
