Motivation
editI believe this could be used widely on the Wikidata, as Plus codes are open-source and free to use, which aligns with Wikidata's free and collaborative foundation. Though I am not sure how to create and implement properties myself, I believe this could be a valuable addition for places. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by The Sharpest Lives (talk • contribs) at 16:15, 15 October 2024 (UTC).
Discussion
edit- Tend to Oppose as redundant with coordinate location (P625). What may be more useful is a user-script/gadget that takes existing P625 values in the user interface and translates them into plus codes for the viewer, rather than actually storing those codes directly. - Comment The Plus codes listed on Google Maps will usually not be the exact same as the ones calculated based on coordinate location (P625). But still, it is just a coordinate system. Leaning Oppose. -wd-Ryan (Talk/Edits) 19:13, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Comment - See also the comments at Wikidata:Property_proposal/Plus_codes, where this was proposed before. --Lewis Hulbert (talk) 08:27, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose Translation of the value of another property, re-submission of a previously rejected property with no obvious difference. --Paspal (talk) 20:34, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- Not done per lack of support for creation. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 05:20, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
