unlike with the show, i didn’t feel emotionally connected to any of the characters. there were moments i liked—and the sets were exceptional—but it fell flat overall, especially in the last half.

the combination of alicia and mads is an attack on my fragile bi heart but i’m grateful for it. i enjoyed this film so much more on this rewatch, and if i think about the “we are a family now” scene in any capacity i immediately start crying.

i wish the whole film made me feel as awed, proud, and in love as i did during the amazons’ scenes and diana’s intense, powerful crossing of no man’s land, but i’m so glad this film exists. i love bisexual warrior princess diana of themyscira with all my heart.

it’s now 2018 when i’m typing this, and the more i think about this movie the more i want to up its rating. there are surprisingly nuanced performances despite the, ah, disturbing (ludicrous?) subject matter. it’s one that really stays with you.
