I Didn't Want to Just Disappear!

I hate it when bloggers just disappear!  I'm aware I am guilty of this so I'm here to say thanks for listening to my tales and for all the lovely comments but I no longer feel the need to let the world know my comings and goings.  To be honest I've even stopped reading most blogs now too hence the lack of comments from me.  I've taken more to watching You Tube if and when I have time.  In summer I always spend less time on the computer as I have too much to do in the garden etc  but I don't foresee myself coming back to blogging this time.  I've come and gone too often now and although we should never say never, I think this is it. We've been to Australia to visit with my son, his partner and their dog and we had a wonderful time.  Now, 3 weeks since we came home, it feels like it never even happened! I'll probably lurk around some blogs from time to time.  I hope you all keep well and stay safe. Bye for now. xx

Stuff

I had written a post to publish last week and left it in drafts to get photos for it.  However, here we are a full week later and still no photographs!  The problem is that the photos I need are on my phone which lives for the most part downstairs, I don't carry it around with me in the house so when I go to get the photos it means a trip down to get my phone as I'm upstairs on my laptop.  Not a huge inconvenience you'd think, and no, it's not really, however I find I go downstairs and inevitably get distracted with something else and when I come back upstairs later, I still don't have the phone with me!!  Somehow when my photos were on my camera I downloaded them onto the computer more regularly.  I've no idea why this is not the case now!  Anyway, the post is way out of date now so I'll leave it in drafts with no photos. Basically it said, we had a leak in my radiator upstairs which began to show up on the newly plastered and painted ceiling downsta...

It's Raining and It's Saturday!

I met the Art Girls yesterday for the first time in over 2 years!  We've had Zoom meetings throughout lockdowns and we've had art challenges and to be honest the other girls have already met up twice in the past few months.  Both times were down at the coast where one of the girls moved to last year and I didn't feel ready to make the journey by public transport.  The first time they went I'd planned to go but I got myself in a right old froth before it and pulled out the day before.  The second time was just before Christmas and I really didn't fancy it so I pulled out long before the trip took place.  The meeting yesterday was in the city in a fairly busy restaurant.  To begin with I felt quite uneasy but we had such fun I soon relaxed and enjoyed it.  However a strange thing happened later!  At the restaurant one of the girls warned us that a fraudulent text is being sent out telling you you've been in contact with a positive covid person and t...

Plastered

Image
Well, we're plastered!  It's looking good.  As I sit here typing this hubby is at my door vaccuming some of the dust.  He's been going round smoothing off the bits that stuck where they weren't supposed to be and I've just watched him lol.  I feel I've hit a bit of a brick wall today.  I think we were so busy preparing for this and today is the first day I've really stopped and it's hit me and I feel exhausted!  I think hubby must run on Duracell batteries - clearly my batteries are cheap and nasty ones! While the plasterer was here we were 'trapped' outside the dining room which is effectively the middle of the house.  We call it the dining room but its the main room in the house - almost like a dining kitchen would be as the kitchen is off the dining room and the living room is off the dining room but we use the dining room most of the time, its where everyone congregates so it was awkward not having it in use.  Fortunately we can get out ...

LIfe Goes On.

And so it continues - Covid has made its way to my family now.  My daughter has tested positive today.  Of course, sods law, she was the one who dropped her dog at our house this morning.  Normally her husband does it but she said the dog wasn't going to let her leave the house without him so she left early enough to drop him off with us.  Fortunately she's wasn't in for long and kept fairly distant from us but still...   She tested herself when she went home at lunchtime to check on her daughter who has tonsilitis.  At work she'd felt a bit ropey and thought a test would probably come up negative however that's her grounded now for the duration and I only hope she gets a mild version of it and that no-one else gets it from her!  Her hubby picked the dog up early this afternoon wearing a mask while waiting outside.  I daresay it will be this way for a week or so now. We have made the bold decision to go to Sydney to visit our son!  We ca...

Finding New Content?

How do you find new blogs to read?  I'm not good at searching out new blogs.  The ones I currently read I've come across through other blogs I read but this has narrowed my field as mostly the same group of people read the same kind of blogs.  I feel we are a little group who wander down the lanes of the same blogs and although I like my group of people, I'd like to break away now and again to read blogs that cover some of my other interests.   I remember in the old days on blogger you could click on a link to 'the next blog' which often threw up some interesting sites but that seems to have gone now.  I also try to click on links on peoples profile to blogs they follow, however I feel that brings me back to the circle I'm currently in.  I don't have any problem with my circle but I feel there must be blogs out there that would interest me in a way they might not interest the same group I'm in.  Its a group that's getting smaller and smaller as pe...

It's OLD 'news'!

I know I said I was taking a break, and I am, well at least I should be!  I'm not getting on very well with my prep for the plasterer.  I've taken all the photos off the stair walls though, who knew I had 190 photos on the walls!! I know because I counted all the little nails I pulled out of the walls!   I've a lot more to do (not photos though).  I work better when I've an imminent deadline, I'll be scrapping off paper the night before he's due!! Anyway what I really came on here for was to have a wee moan!  Today I was reading the news on MSN after I shut down my email account and the headline - across a big banner at the main news section said 'Tenerife may close to arrivals from Friday for the rest of 2020'.  What's the problem I hear you say?  The problem is this news is two years out of date!!  The only reason it caught my attention was because my son and his partner are currently in Tenerife enjoying a sunshine break and I sent them t...
