Welcome to Meta!
Hello, UY Scuti. Welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Wikimedia Forum if you need help with something (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). Happy editing!

Divbox
I think that your edits to {{Divbox}} have stopped it from working in the mainspace, which doesn't seem appropriate on Meta.
Also, the background colors don't seem to show. Do you know how to fix that? (Please ping me; my watchlist is hopeless. Thanks.) Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 17:15, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Whatamidoing (WMF), thanks for bringing that to my attention and sorry for messing the template up. I've reverted my edits. To explain myself, I tried to copy English Wikipedia's version of en:Template:Divbox and with it, the style
grayh
, which would only work with English Wikipedia's version of the template. Also, made it work in Meta-Wiki mainspace (works here). Aaand I didn't copy the code for rest of the colours under Template:Divbox/style/<colorname>. I now moved it to{{Divbox1}}
. Hope that settles it. Thanks--AVasanth (WMF) (talk) 18:30, 14 June 2017 (UTC)- Thanks. In the old version, I think that some colors (green) worked and others (aqua) didn't. I was trying to make a sample page for someone that combined not-too-complicated with not-too-boring, and this box was the first one I found that might do something decorative. There might be a better one out there. I think that one of the enwiki templates lets you specify any hex color code or HTML color name you want, which might be better. But this is good enough for what I needed today. Thanks again for fixing the templates; I wasn't sure how to do it. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 21:36, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
Wikipedia Library User Group is being renamed!
Hello! In the past few months, the Wikipedia Library User Group has been undergoing some major planning and developments. We just finished our very first open call with the user group members, which was a great success (see the meeting minutes). If you joined us during the meeting, we’d like to thank you for your interest. If not, not to worry, we have lots of things planned for the user group in which you can participate.
This message is to inform you that based on the input received from the user group members and the founding members, it was agreed that the Wikipedia Library User Group’s name be reconsidered by a voting process. As a valued member of the user group, we’d like to invite you to vote on the list of potential names. You can vote by following this link. The poll will run for a timeframe of two weeks. personal request for comment
Hi, since you are a founder of the Wiki+libraries UG I want to know your "informed" opinion. Do you think if it possible to use your social media to inform about WikiScience. I can't access them from PRC (where I live) but it is just a simple request for your members who work in the academia to inform their colleagues (#WSC2017, #WikiScience).
At the moment, as I said for example on one local wiki today, we are not sure if we get a banner everywhere, they consider us like WikiLovesMonument (and we are not) so we can't access decently a lot of countries. Which is funny, considering that in 2015 we did get access a little bit. So, I am doing my best and I try every options. Do you think you can just tweet it or post on facebook of our UG?
As far as i know, Wikiwomen (or Wikidonne) did that too, so it is not so strange. Otherwise, I keep writing emails.--Alexmar983 (talk) 09:37, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Alexmar983: Hi! Thanks for stopping by. That is certainly doable, and I'll tweet, share on both TWL and WLUG social media platforms tomorrow. Happy to help--AVasanth (WMF) (talk) 18:31, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
- thank you very much. In the meantime some of the tons of email I have sent maybe did some effect. I don't mind that some areas are less performant, it is not easy to process the huge amount of files, especially technical ones. So I am happy to do selective outreach too. But it is so sad if some big countries are at zero. Just that.--Alexmar983 (talk) 02:27, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
Wikimedia and Libraries User Group Steering Committee Election
