Envisions for Reading List
[edit]Hello Jules,
I am a sophomore, and I am interested to work in this project Reading List [0]. As the task does not give much information on the project, I am trying to get more information on how community needs Reading List to be like. It would be great if you could point out your opinions and ideas on how Reading List should look like? [0]:https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T120756 --User:Harithaharikumar
2016 Community Wishlist Survey
[edit]Hi,
You’re getting this message because you participated in the 2015 Community Wishlist Survey and we want to make sure you don't miss it this year – or at least can make the conscious choice to ignore if it you want to. The 2015 survey decided what the Community Tech team should work on during 2016. It was also the focus of Wikimedia hackathons and work by other developers. You can see the status of wishes from the 2015 wishlist at 2015 Community Wishlist Survey/Results.
The 2016 Community Wishlist Survey is now open for wishes. You can create proposals until November 20. You will be able to vote on which wishes you think are best or most important between November 28 and December 12. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 11:17, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

Adjusted text
[edit]There has been a request to inform all who voted in the RfC about interlinking accounts involved with paid editing about the following adjustment in the "statement of issue" on Sept 18th, 2017.
It was clarified that this effort will help deal not only with impersonation of specific Wikipedians but also claims of being in good standing made by those who are not.[1] Thanks. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 19:59, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
Hello. I saw that you wrote to NB80 about Liza Veniza IPs (fr:Discussion_utilisateur:NB80#Masquages). We don't having any page about vandal's IPs, but I finded and want to gave next accounts and IPs:
- AjraToira's global block and IP.
- Артём Саломаа's block at enwiki and IP.
- n:ru:Special:Contributions/185.156.173.12.
And if you look WHOIS, the IPs are open proxies. Firstly, Liza Veniza vandalised using Opera VPN (see Meta:Requests for CheckUser information/Archives/2018#Liza Veniza and logs by steward which blocked Liza Veniza (also remember that "ruwiking" was impersonator, not this original vandal)). In April 2018 to now, vandal started using other VPN which gaves leaky webhosts (see Liza Veniza's edit war and filter stopping at Russian Wikipedia). We don't know what vandal's real IP. Marshmallych 10:07, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Marshmallych: thank you! I created a page on frwikipedia to track the IP and accounts used: fr:Wikipédia:Faux-nez/Liza Veniza. You can add information you have . Jules78120 (talk) 16:53, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Jules78120: I wanted to create this page. I will not edit this page because I am not having autopatrolled rights at frwiki — filter 323 stops autoconfirmed users. But I seeing few errors — in "aout 2018", there's socks from July. Please add fr:User:Дмитрий Козлов Александрович to this list, and mark it as May 2018 sock, not June 2018 sock. And also add fr:User:Dima Papanov (see abuse filter log for edvince) as June 2018 sock. Marshmallych 17:16, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Marshmallych: I edited filter 323, so you (and only you) can now easily edit this page. Feel free to correct mistakes. Regards, Jules78120 (talk) 17:31, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
- Can you remove account "LomiPig" from fr:Wikipédia:Faux-nez/Liza Veniza? It doesn't look like Liza Veniza. Marshmallych 15:56, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Marshmallych: Hi, I think that's him, see his comments "непослушный". And he's targetting Lomita, as does Liza Veniza. Why do you think that's not him? Regards, Jules78120 (talk) 17:32, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- Because original vandal will write nonsense, Wikimedia having many Russian vandals, like a en:Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/Nikita or others. Anyway remove it please. Marshmallych 17:34, 19 August 2018 (UTC)

The 2021 Community Wishlist Survey is now open! This survey is the process where communities decide what the Community Tech team should work on over the next year. We encourage everyone to submit proposals until the deadline on 30 November, or comment on other proposals to help make them better. The communities will vote on the proposals between 8 December and 21 December.
The Community Tech team is focused on tools for experienced Wikimedia editors. You can write proposals in any language, and we will translate them for you. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing your proposals!
18:26, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
We invite all registered users to vote on the 2021 Community Wishlist Survey. You can vote from now until 21 December for as many different wishes as you want.
In the Survey, wishes for new and improved tools for experienced editors are collected. After the voting, we will do our best to grant your wishes. We will start with the most popular ones.
We, the Community Tech, are one of the Wikimedia Foundation teams. We create and improve editing and wiki moderation tools. What we work on is decided based on results of the Community Wishlist Survey. Once a year, you can submit wishes. After two weeks, you can vote on the ones that you're most interested in. Next, we choose wishes from the survey to work on. Some of the wishes may be granted by volunteer developers or other teams.
We are waiting for your votes. Thank you!

Problem with your custom signature
[edit]Your account has an invalid custom signature set in the account preferences.
A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software. You can see your custom signature settings at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-personal-signature. You can check your signature at https://signatures.toolforge.org
There are multiple possible errors. This message is being sent to people who have the "Mismatch between link and username" error.
The problem: Your signature links to a different user account. This often happens when you set a custom signature and then change your username.
The solutions: There are two ways to fix this problem. You can reset your signature to the default, or you can modify your signature.
- Modify your custom signature:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences. (You need to do this step on the wiki where the error is, which is probably the one where you're reading this message.)
- Look in the Nickname (optional, for signatures): text box for your custom signature code. This contains the name of an account, but it's not your account. It's probably the name of another account that you used.
- Change the wrong account name to your current account name.
- If you have more than one account, and you are trying to link to the other account, then change at least one of the links to your current account name. For example, change
Username (talk)
to:Username2 (talk)
(one link to the current account's userpage, and one link to your other account's talk page), or toUsername (talk • contributions)
(two links to your other account and one link toSpecial:Contributions
for your current account).
- If you have more than one account, and you are trying to link to the other account, then change at least one of the links to your current account name. For example, change
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
After you have done this, the error will be fixed. If the error is not fixed, then clicking the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page will produce an error.
If you need help, please read mw:Special:MyLanguage/New requirements for user signatures/Help. Thank you. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk)
A Community Wishlist Survey update waiting for translation
[edit]Hello! Would you be able to translate the newest update about the Community Wishlist Survey 2022? In short: instead of November 2021, the CWS will happen in January 2022. We would also like to make other improvements. We can't do that without having the volunteers' opinions. This is what we ask for in the message.
After the weekend, I'll send this to all Village Pumps, Cafes, Forums, etc. Our team would like as many people as possible not to ignore this message. Let's remove the language barrier.
Thank you! SGrabarczuk (WMF) 01:29, 4 September 2021 (UTC)

Merci, a bientôt.

Apokrif (talk) 14:39, 8 November 2024 (UTC) +b:fr:Le_mouvement_Wikimédia/Introduction_:_Wikimédia_n'est_pas_Wikipédia. Apokrif (talk) 14:40, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- I know perfectly well the differences between wp-fr, Wikimedia France (WMFr) and Meta. You are banned from fr-wp by a sysops decision, you keep using socks there, and for this reason you are not welcome to this event hosted by WMFr, with a presentation page on Meta-wiki, for patrollers of french language projects. Stop creating socks on fr-wp and stop wasting our time. I already warned you a few months ago on User_talk:Apokrif#Stop, this is the last warning. — Jules* talk 14:46, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- Your insistence on mentioning a wiki (French WP) which is irrelevant here shows you don't understand that this wiki is different from both meta-wiki (in which we're currently writing) and the French association WMFR (which is not a wiki, although it has one or even two IIRC). Also, there are French-language WM projects other than the French WP. Please just follow the links above for further info ;-) Apokrif (talk) 14:54, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- Please stop bothering me. If you have any doubt, contact Luc Hervier WMFr who, I'm sure, will confirm you that banned users of any of french language projects are not welcome to the Patrol Conf. — Jules* talk 15:05, 8 November 2024 (UTC)

IIRC French, not English, is your first language (it's mine too), so feel free to use it here (Meta is a multilingual project). Did you read my answer at User_talk:Apokrif#Stop and understand the mistakes you made then? Apokrif (talk) 15:00, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- Bonjour Jules* et Apokrif. Je viens de voir pour l'inscription d'Apokrif à la Patrol Conf 2024.
