So far I think my biggest cultural shock on tumblr was commander Fox:

YouTube: Fox killed Fives, we hate Fox

Me: alright, I see, makes sense

Tumblr: poor little overworked baby, are those idiots bothering you again?

Me, the person with irrational sympathy to everything sleep deprived and anxiously drinking coffee: Hmm, I think I will stick around

Obi-Wan wears like 53 layer of robes so everyone assumes he’s kinda soft especially compared to his ‘in the prime of his youth’ former Padawan but then one day he goes shirtless to spar and he’s shredded, he has an 8 pack. Clones and Jedi alike are choking on drinks and tripping into walls. Ahsoka is covering her eyes and screaming because that’s basically her grandpa. Anakin has to throw a robe over Obi-Wan like The Birth of Venus.

I BLAME YOU ALL

This is canon. 🤣

PERFECT to have Kit Fisto giving the high five 😂😂😂 God bless you artists

i’m going to hold your hands when i say this and i am only going to be kind about it once: ai does not belong in fandom spaces, ever. not in writing, not in art, not in video, not at all. it does not matter how bad you want to see your favourite characters kiss, or how much you need a bit of help finishing a chapter, or whatever.

make friends with artists. commission somebody. learn to draw yourself. ask for a beta read. try a writing partnership. fandom spaces are communities, so engage with them! it is about the journey and the fact that we all love something enough to create and build together about that thing.

spending 30 seconds to kill a tree and get an AI to push out some soulless empty piece of “content” is antithetical to the entire point of being engaged with fandom, and if you’ve taken to doing this you should really reconsider if you belong in these spaces with the rest of us.

ai has no fucking place in fandom. none whatsoever. even if you’re “just using it for feedback” or “just using it for prompts” or “just using it to help with writer’s block.” and if you’re using it for research? why on god’s green earth would you use the Lying Machine to do research???

all art, whether written work, paintings, drawings, anything, is a fundamentally human creation, and by using ai to create “art,” you are stripping the humanity from something inherently, intrinsically human

fanfiction and fanart and any kind of fan creation are borne out of a love of the original media and a passion for creation. there is no reason or need to supplement that passion and creation with gibberish from the Plagiarizing Machine

nobody expects perfection. it is the imperfections that make it beautiful, that make it raw and rich with humanity. this is a community that exists because of a shared love for something.it is built upon our own creations. ai generated content threatens its very foundations

Part of the human experience is struggling to come up with ideas. That creative block we all hate so much is actually a natural step in the artistic process. Sometimes it’s a sign that you need to take a break and step away from whatever you’re working on- other times it’s an opportunity for creative problem solving or collaboration with your peers. Regardless, lacking ideas is what humanizes and humbles us. Art is valuable precisely because it’s not easy. It’s not something that everyone is capable of or interested in producing. Therefore anything that somebody creates is a testament to their human spirit and willpower, as well as being a reflection of their life experience. But it’s only beautiful because it’s organic.

As soon as you allow a machine to do the thinking for you, the artistic merit disappears. Not only that, but you’re depriving yourself of an opportunity to use your own imagination to solve a problem. And if we all stop using our imaginations, well… then we’re not learning, we’re not growing, nothing is real and nothing matters.

FUCK ai.

One of the funniest things about being a clone lover while watching TCW is the fact that all the clones have the goofiest/coolest names with a story behind them that indirectly gives them a little personality. Since you know that all the clones are multilayered people who have their own interesting internal journeys, you want to get to know most of them. So then there will be moments where it's like:

"Oh no, they killed Clover, Sillyboi, Beanstalk, and Jeggings!"

And I'll consistently be upset because I want to know who Sillyboi is and why he's called Sillyboi, but I never will because he fucking died. When a lot of shows kill off background characters like that but give them names, I usually don't care. But the fact that the clones all have fun names that mean something makes me randomly emotionally invested. I'll be crying over some mf named Jeggings who was on screen for 15 seconds.

This is a very valid point but Jeggings has me rolling 😆

Thinking about how Rex just lets Ahsoka remove his helmet. He didn’t even try to resist it. He just allowed himself to be vulnerable in front of her. He looked so broken, so defeated. He allowed Ahsoka to see him and how he was truly feeling.

Ahsoka in turn, God, she looked so kind and compassionate, so full of love and sympathy and heartbreak. I can’t even describe how hard this scene hit me. There was so much emotional weight and intimacy between these two like I’ve never seen before.

It’s wonderful to see these two be so vulnerable in front of each other, but damn. It hurts.
